Jesus Christ it is a game. I used to laugh to old grannies who went and shout to soap opera star "Stop drinking and beating your wife!" when poor actor had done nothing like that, instead his character in tv had. Now I see some people here who obviously cannot separate a video game from reality. If I kill Jacob 10 times, is he dead in every other peoples game too? No, so that should tell something. He is pixels. If I go and hit my bf, yes, I'm a monster. If I kill Jacob 10 times, it only tells BioWare wrote a character I personally don't like and I want to make sure I don't have to see him in ME3.

I really disliked Thane but I never killed him on purpose, that would be petty and childish. I did do so once by accident when I had him escort the crew back (I wanted to hear Jack report), but that was the once. .

I'm not quite understanding the purpose of your post. Are you saying that we are like old women and to involved and can't seperate reality from fantasty or that you see yourself sucked into it.

If you are complaing about induviduals concern then you should leave these forums. The ME games are based on your feelings and emotions. That is why you have so many choices, it is what makes the game exciting and exlierating. Not only do you fight to save the universe, but you must also deal with personal and friends problems and differences.

If someone is emotionally so sucked in a video game that can't stand someone else killing characters in that said game, that person has problems in separating reality from imagination. Obviously you are one of those persons. I can't see anything very healthy in it. I can understand people crying, and laughing over a video game or movie, but I can't understand someone thinking others are sosipaths, bad persons, killers, murderers or whatever because they make someone in a game die. Understood?

Didn't you know that pixelated characters are real people? And that how you treat characters in your own game gives other people leave to call you names? These same people seem to get some sense of superiority out of how they 'don't kill' anyone in their games while others do.

*shrugs* I don't really get it. I don't think there's a moral high ground when it comes to fictional beings. Personally, I can't bring myself to turn against Gadon Thek while my boyfriend did it in every game, yet somehow I thought of my boyfriend's decision as just being how he enjoyed his game instead of it being 'petty', 'childish', 'pathetic', or any of the other words some holier-than-thou types seem to like to use.

Tali, Jacob, Samara, Miranda, Thane - all cringeworthy characters to me.  Hence the sensible thing to do is remove them and improve my mass effect 3 playthrough.

Would add I think it's a real shame that the game doesnt force you to have casualties.

i didn't hate anyone enuf to let them die ..but the possibility to just tell them to leave would've been very welcome ( if you didn't want them on your ship - exept miranda and jacob who were cerberus and you were forced to work with)..but i totally understand the need to kill some of the chars if they 're annoying ..maybe in ME3 i'll have the chance (if they don't give the possibility to ask them to leave)

I don't think I hated Jacob at all. I wish I did, it would make him more interesting. I just felt infinitely indifferent to his fate.

No offense to anyone, but deliberately killing off a character and therefore risking cutting yourself out of potential content for purely emotional reasons is beyond me. Pathetic no matter how you try to spin it.

Because you can only import one save into ME3 amirite?

I said "for you purely emotional reasons," meaning because you hate a character and are desperate enough to actually kill them off on your playthrough just for that reason. I think it's fine if you kill off certain squadmates to see how ME3 plays out; I have done that myself. But I will never kill my squadmates because they don't appeal to me.

I like Jacob...he was my bro in ME2 just like Kaidan was my bro in ME1.

no

It makes Shepard look incompetent and doesn't make sense from a role play perspective.

No. On my main playthroughs, everyone lived. On alternates, I have different combinations of survivors. Obviously my favourite characters survive more frequently on alternate playthroughs though.

Nope. My first playthrough was perfect and I don't see the point of getting people killed unless it was actually a mistake. At this point there is no drama, because I know how to keep everyone alive.

No, there are characters I don't really care that much, but I don't want to specifically let them get killed.

I never killed anyone because i didn't like them in my games, however I did send a few people to their deaths in the final mission. I have perfection renegade/paragon games, but i also have a few saves where some squadies are dead. Jacob volunteered to go into the pipes, so i sent him in one renegade run. Thane died in one for not buying a specific ship upgrade and Jack once while holding the line. I plan on playing ME3 lots though, so i want a save of all variables.

nope, a good commander tries to keep everyone alive, jack always made me feel uncomfortable but I never killed her. However in my first playthrough I did lose a couple of people cause I stupidly thought it didn't matter who I used for certain things, those two were Tali and Garrus, kind of sucked to lose the two original squad members.

You are really misgiuded. I could care less if someone else does. What you said before was a really loose statment. You didn't make yourself clear. You sounded as if you were saying you shouldn't let your emotions into the game at all and shouldn't be upset if a player dies. I could care less what others do.

Next time don't accuse someone without them even stating their stance as well as asking what you were acually saying.

My canon Shepard tried to save everyone, but lost Mordin. :(

Since then I've killed off different combinations of squad members in various playthroughs to see what the effects will be in ME3, but the only one I ever killed off out of spite a couple times was Miranda. Her attitude gets on my nerves.

I hate having Squadmates die so i never send the wrong person on the Suicide mission and make sure to do all Loyalty missions, although I might have someone die in my 3rd Renegade's playthrough...just for some difference.

I either kill people by accident or randomly just for the sake of killing as many people as possible to see if there's any consequence for it.
