I am hoping the remaining slots can be filled by whoever we choose from a pool of remaining ME2 squad members. That would certainly fit the bill of squadmates not working the same way as before and would make everybody happy, myself included.

Wont happen that means they need to make more there were what 9 or 10 in mass effect 2 thats 10 possible choices.

Honestly if I can't recruit a Krogan or at least a Yahg who can come with me, I'm going to be very unhappy.

I think you'll get to choose at least 3 people who are on your squad.

Note that before Christina Norman left she said Tali and Garrus being "permanent" squad members wasn't exactly true. I suspect this means that they can be removed from the squad by certain circumstances.

I assume it has to do something if situation related players choises or situation related they own race.

Example, if we assume that Geth vs Quarians conflict exist in ME3 as player could not resolve it as peaceful ways and is forced to make choise. Then choise between them can affect do you have Tali or Legion as squad member.  I just speculated as how it could mean not have permanent,  even if you had Tali with you as squad member, you may lose her in certain circumstances.

I can't figure what certain circumstances would affect Garrus as he is basicly so indenpent. Lone wolf.

I'm my self hoping that all players get at least they favored squad members, even if they can't get all of them. So, between 6-8 max squad members would be nice. Not too many but enough for any choises related missions.

I don't my self allways use same squad members in missions, but the pool isn't big, maybe 4 different one, but they are never someone who I don't like, unless they have skills what others don't have. So, if developers force us to have sertain squad members, doesn't mean we like any of them. I think most common in ME2 for me was, Garrus, Tali, Miranda and Grunt. Why? Because they have very different skills.

They keep mentioning that we will have temporary squadmates. So basically we will have permanent squad members (amount I wouldn't know) and possibly mission-specific squadmates.

Since we get to visit the quarian homeworld, maybe there will be a mission there where Tali will occupy 1/2 for squad selection. Or maybe when we go back to Tuchanka, we can get Wrex. They probably won't do this for each and every squad member we've had in the past 2 games but who knows really?

I'm glad we don't have as many squadmembers as ME2 had. Hopefully now, we get more dialog. Freakin' win.

I would gladly replace that Vega guy for Wrex or legion.

maybe specific squad members will be restricted to specific planets/missions this time around. But a select few will be allowed to accompany shepard throughout. For example, mordin will be allowed as a squad member on the salarian homeworld or other salarian-controlled planets because the salarians could care less bout sending one of their top scientist in a non-salarian interest/mission as it would be silly to do so at the moment(see: reaper purge galaxy)

I dunno know... im just spitballin here. :\\

Tali? I hope she's not actually a permanent squad member. She was probably my least favorite to have on my squad and the Quarians seem to have the biggest nonReaper conflict out of the nonAliens so it wouldn't make any sense because she'd have her hands full.

I don't see why they would want to cut back on the number of squadmates. I loved having so many unique individuals to chose from. Plus their loyalty missions were all fun. It's better to have too many choices than not enough.

In ME2, most of the loyalty missions were rather repetitive (ie: Go somewhere, fight wave after wave of mercs, see short cutscene.) Only a couple (like Samara's) were actually unique. Less squadmates mean each one gets more fleshed out so they won't be doing calibrations all day with boring loyalty missions.

Also, in ME2, you spent more time on trivial loyalty missions than u did on the main quest. Side and companion Quests are all fun and good, but the main quest needs to get the most attention. It needs to be much longer and fleshed out than it was in ME2...Mass Effect 1 did better in this regard.

But really though give him a chance. Bioware always writes good characters. I'm sure he'll be no different.

Me.

I don't like Wrex at all. Garrus is okey, but only because his skills, other ways I don't really like him much.

Point been, just because you like someone, don't make assumption that others like them too.
Also assuming anything about James is stupid as we don't know much anything about him at all.

Didn't someone say it would be more than ME but less than ME2 that puts it as being between 7 and 11.

Personally I'd be happy for VS and Vega to be the only actual 'you will have' squadmates and the rest being ones you can choose to have or not but with ALL squadmates having zero plot armor as far as potential deaths are concerned.

What the hell?

Wrex does survive in my gameplay too, what the hell does that have to do with liking the Wrex?

I'm diplomatic paragon Shepard, I don't kill people who I don't like just for sport.

I hope it depends on your choices as to who is a permanent squadmate and who is temporary. IE:>> Do a character's ME1 quest and their loyality mission in ME2 and if they survived through the end. Then they will be permanent but don't do those things and they may only be temporary......

That is my personal preference though; to each their own......

I would say probably 1. 1 new that is.

We already have James Vega as a new squamate and i think we'll have a new female squadmate.
That is what I think but I could be wrong
