Will we get to personally use mech suits in ME3?

I've been seeing pictures of these large robotic battlesuits with a human pilot from ME3 lately.

And then I started to wonder:

Will Commander Shepherd get to use one of these?

I don't seriously expect to get one to use all the time, otherwise Shepherd would be the equivalent of a Ymir Mech, stomping over everything in the way and not bothering with subtlety.

But will there be moments in the game which would feature riding one of these for your very own use?

I'm thinking something like a boss battle or maybe using them during the "grand finale" of the battle with the Reapers.

There was a mmo which (sadly cancelled now) which featured an endgame  instance that had a mech battle against Epic level enemies.
I went there all the time, because it was fun to get into one of these war juggernauts and unleash unstoppable destruction.

Sadly, I've never been able to do that again, so I'd love to get into one of the Mass Effect 3 mechs, which would be very comparable to my beloved AFS Mech (that was the name of the mech warsuit in that game).

Mass Effect gameplay is very similar to that mmo, so a mech in Mass Effect would be like the AFS Mech.

Its called an Atlas and yes if you kill the pilot you can get in it.

You can apparantly break the cockpit windows and pull the pilot out. Then pilot it for yourself every time you face one.

which most likely means that you'll never be able to leave the room (tiny boss arena)

Will we get to keep it, or will it just be a temporary thing? It seems kind of pointless to take over a mech in confined quarters like that. You'd have to kill every enemy around just to get in the thing, and you couldn't very well walk it out of there. I don't think it'll turn out that great, but we'll see.

Chances are that will just be one of many. It seems to me it will be like the Ymir mech mini bosses. They'll pop up in different places, during different amounts of fighting.

I just had a Mechgasm.

I'm going to be jumping every mech I find, kill the pilot and take his ride!
Also accompanied by a laugh of triumph as I see the Cerberus agents wetting their pants at the side of their former titan mech coming right at them.

I hope it's not a possibilty to accidentally destroy the mech before you get to ride in it.

I can just imagine the scenario now:

Shepherd is taking potshots at the pilot, trying to kill him.
One squadmate blows off the legs, the other blows up the power core of the mech.
WTF, I wanted to get in that!

If that happens, I'm going to put my squadmates far away when I go to steal the Atlas.

Wait, why is Cereberus using mechs with glass canopies that can easily be shattered and the operator can be yanked out of?

The mechs in Fear 2 and 3 are designed far more logically.

'Cause of the view, man! ME3 is gonna have some serious scenerie.

You ever pay attention to TIMmy's office? Now THERE'S a man who'll always take the scenic route.

lol. I wonder if that was a viewscreen or an actual window on his ship.

Anyway the Atlas is a death trap. This is a real mech:

Edit: Notice the distinct lack of a glass canopy

You don't know Cereberus do you?  If it can't cost tons of money and screw them over, it isn't worth it to them.

The only thing Cerberus did that was in way competant was rebuild Shepard. All of their projects in ME1 went sour on them, they couldnt build a bigger, better Normandy to survive the SM without you getting help from aliens to upgrade pretty much everything on it, or buying used parts to improve performance.
Hence, they wont design mechs to be logical in any way, shape or form.

Jesus guys? What do you take this for? This isn't Kira on bloody Gundam Seed.
I really really hope Bioware has a good explanation for making my Shepard some sort of Otaku mech machine piloting jerkoff.

Last I saw, Shep wasnt forced into one of these things. Listen to the commentary, and you can quite clearly hear them say "IF you break the glass, and IF you can pull the pilot out, Shep has the OPTION of getting in to pilot it him/herself".
So the only person responsible for making Shep an Otaku mech maching piloting jerkoff, is yourself.

BioWare Meeting

CEO: We really want ME3 to be a big hit and have massive sales so I can swim in money.
Marketing Team: Well, we could tap into the vast teenage boy market, they'll have their parents buy anything flashy!
CEO: Good idea, but how do we reach their little minds>
Marketing Team: Mechs! Kids love mechs.
CEO: I like it. Make sure you use it in advertisements with cheesy rock music playing in the background, it'll be our one-two punch. Also, design it to be as unrealistic and as dangerous for the operator as possible like a giant glass canopy that screams shoot me and shower the driver with glass.

I AM SO TIRED OF READING THIS ARGUMENT: OMG ITS A CHOICE SO IT DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, it changes everything!!! He's a bloody space marine why is he trotting around as a mech pilot. where did he even learn how to pilot a mech?!? Why don't we give Shepard a bloody Katana sword and let him slice enemies to death. If we don't care about continuing the canon.

There's an "Awesome!" button inside the Mech.

PS: Mech has a Katana.

As an old school MechWarrior player I welcome the chance to pilot any exo-frame even in Mass Effect. :) Sort of reminds me of a Clan Elemental, except for the big old windowed cockpit.

Awww, baby troll needs his diaper changed. Baby-troll doesnt like optional content, therefore noone else is allowed to have it. Baby-troll likes to whine loudly because Bioware isnt customising the game to suit his every whim.
Buy a bag of cement and harden th f*ck up. Noone is forcing you to use the mech, so you can go along and destroy it at will, instead of breaking the glass and removing the pilot.

Now I want a giant pet mechsuit instead of a damn mech dog for the Normandy.

Yet when they wasted development time on it for your "optional" content instead of other stuff. Who was being forced then?
