Did you use every single piece of armour, weapons or upgrade in ME1? How about ME2?
Did you explore every single decision variable in both games?
More examples of what you would refer to optional content, and thus would whinge about taking away dev time for "other things".
Get over it, you are not Biowares only customer, and given that you have not registered your game on the forums, I doubt you are even a customer at all, instead just a whinging pirate who expects everything for free. As such, your opinion is worth less than what I excreted outof my buttocks this morning.

You are like that peice of gum I always manage to step on. Is their an opinion I share that you don't disagree with?

Honest to god. how many times are you guys going to use this Optional-content argument. it's not a good one. If I'm fighting these mechs and one of the options is to use a mech that'll make the rest of the level easier. Does that seem like much of a "choice" to you? or does that seem like they're kicking me-ass first into using mechs.

Let's get over the fact thats its optional for just a second. Does it even make sense? Shepard is a marine not a pilot, he should always, always be on the floor shooting **** and exploding things up. Yet, now we are moving the battle to mechs, mobile assault guns and the likes. Does this not sound like a different game?

I AM SO TIRED OF READING THIS ARGUMENT: OMG ITS A CHOICE SO IT DOESNT CHANGE ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, it changes everything!!! He's a bloody space marine why is he trotting around as a mech pilot. where did he even learn how to pilot a mech?!? Why don't we give Shepard a bloody Katana sword and let him slice enemies to death. If we don't care about continuing the canon.

Well, he has the omni blade. But seriously, what is the real issue with the "Lost Planet" type mech? In the movie Aliens, did anyone really question Ellen Ripley's ability to use the loader? It's sci-fi, futuristic. As long as something doesn't seem too much out of place like the mech pet then it's a free for all. Cerberus has the money in the ME universe right? So how many people questioned the tech behind bringing Shep back to life? I'll complain if I see Cerberus individuals walking around in Joker make up laughing maniacally because that would be out of place in a sci-fi.

"Geth do not use windows. They are a structural weakness."

Its a better argument than what you just made. By your logic, the moment you start having any difficulty in any part of the game, Bioware is removing the "choice" for you to play it on the difficulty setting of your chosing, and forcing you to select "Casual" instead.
On any of the ME2 battlefields, did you ever use explosive crates or cannisters to help take out enemies? That was more "optional" content that you may ormay not have used to make the battles easier. The mech idea is along the same lines of thinking, or is it bad that games evolve during their lives?

It makes perfect sense for a marine to use anything he can get his hands on to give him either a tactical, or firepower advantage during his mission. To apply your limited thinking, then marines in any situation, real or fictional, would not go along and use a block of C4 and detonator anywhere near a fuel depot, because they are paid to be marines, not sappers. They shoud just stand there being all Rambo-ish and beating the enemy with all guns and heroic poses.

To those who whine about Shep not being able to pilot a mech, Shep just uplinks his omni-tool to interface with the mech and EDI takes over. Ta-da!

And if that's not enough through that interface with EDI, Joker is remote piloting the mech. I mean if Arnold can do it in the 6th Day movie, why can't Joker?

Joker is busy with which ever squadmates you didn't take with you, everybody loves a funny guy and since he only has two hands...

Well, I figure that EDI can do everything in her power to maintain a seemless connection and multi-task other roles while Joker handles anything Shep can't on the Mech, and still fly the Normandy.

It can't be that hard between the three of them, right?

Correction, Joker only has one spare hand at any given time. You seen that boy's Extranet history?

Well the mechs are Cerebus tech.

Cerebus likely did their behind the scenes stuff, and let Earth forces design the weapons and then took the tech for themselves. I don't find it implausible that a soldier would be trained in their use, especially an N7 soldier. Even if it wasn't part of Sheps regular military training, after meeting so many mechs, I don't find it impossible he went through training or at the very least some sim training, blah blah.

I always did picture piloting a mech being a remote type thing that engineers would do. I didn't guess they would put people in them. I admit I do dislike the plate glass window with the bullseye painted on the pilots head, but not a huge deal.

Kinda upset we get to pilot them. My dream since ME1 was to have remote controlled mechs on the Normany, and every so often a mission be designed for mech support, where Joker remote pilots a mech..

I agree with Orion1836, ultimate Ymir tech onslaught!!!!

The only thing that really worries me is that, what happens if you are in the middle of a firefight, shoot the pilot down and you can´t reach the Atlas, then you see another cerberus agent getting up and starts doing the same thing that the original pilot ment to do to you?

That would be a problem, but it could give the game and the battle more sense to it.

I'd say only if the original body inside the mech is pulled / thrown out by the next pilot, then sure I want a tough AI, not a cheap one.

Cerberus, have you heard of bullet proof glass? Posted Image

I'd would have done it a different way.
Like this:

Shepherd: We're engaging an Atlas mech, EDI, can you break through it's firewalls and open the canopy so we can shoot the pilot?
EDI: I am beginning to hack into the Atlas mech, keep the pilot occupied for 30 seconds and I will have access.

Or you climb up on the top of it and hit a manual release button to open the canopy, then reach inside and toss the pilot out for the squadmates to deal with.

Now picturing this scene:

Shepherd: Out you go, I want this mech!
Atlas Pilot: Aiiieeeee <thud!>
Atlas Pilot looks up to see two pairs of boots standing over him.
Ashley: Hello there, shall we continue this fight? <cracks knuckles>
Atlas Pilot: I am so screwed.
Shepherd: Ashley, Garrus, stop kicking him! We have the mech now.
<Ashley and Garrus step back and you use the piledriver arm to send the Atlas pilot through the floor.>
Shepherd: What? I wanted to finish him with his own mech. Besides, I always wanted to do that!
