Shouldn't some look like Protheans?
Other races?
Seriously, why do all of the Reapers look like cuttlefish?

Besides, if they looked like puppys, people would have a much more difficult time shooting them. It's a lot easier to hate horrible sea monsters.

Wonder if each of these designs will make it to ME3... You gotta love them.
That Reaper behind Harby looks like a scorpion and the other one looks like octopus,so how Leviathan would look like? giant space Godzilla?
LOL!![]()
Haha, nice observation.
I bet the Leviathan looks kind of like a serpent; maybe even like a long snake with legs, or a lizard.

I must say that I love the cuttlefish look. Always thought it looked rather prothean, myself, mostly because of the tentacle thing they share.
I thought the Protheans looked cthulhu-like as well.

Why didn't the derelict reaper have another form inside of it?
I actually believe that you can see it's larvae looming over the "spike alter" - it's got a triangular head and seems wagley insectoid.. perhaps it's even got wings but it's hard to make out even though a sniper scope.

There was a thread about the Human-Reaper long before that GameInformer interview told us about the whole thing. Putting it simply, it speculated that Human-Reaper was not big enough to be a Reaper itself. (By that time we were only considering dreadnaught class startships i suppouse).
It said it was like 100 mt. long only, and comparing sizes with Sovereign which was about 2 km. long. There were also speculations made that the Human-Reaper is the core of the ship, long before the official explanation came.
Though they might have simply made Human-Reaper look small to make the fight more believeable/or other causes and they jacked that idea at forums when they have seen it after few millions of facepalms rofl.

Harbinger must have been constructed from a lot of these things. What is that thing called anyway?

Reapers all look alike because fashion is pretty darn important to them and peer pressure is rampant in today's Reaper youth.

It's a Giant Isopod. They're fairly close relatives of pill bugs (which aren't really bugs, but crustaceans).

Here's a cool shot of one in profile:
I couldn't find a picture of that datapad during the ending of ME2 with images of Harbinger from a few different angles, but look how similar he and the Giant Isopod look at 2:06 into this youtube video.
Edit: I think Sovereign and his look-a-likes are the only Reapers that look like Cuttlefish.

Yeah, I pulled the texture for that out of the game files:
