Reapers target the Milky Way, as far as we know.
The oldest object in the Milky Way is 13.2 billion years old.

13,200,000,000/50,000=264,000

Although this is a bit ridiculous, whatever species created the Reapers probably did take a few million years to do so.

We'll just put 100,000-175,000 as a number.

Why the 75,000 range? Who says the Reapers don't reap other galaxies?

The sad thing is, I'm beginning to think that they DO reap other galaxies. Harbinger says we are approaching YOUR galaxy, not the galaxy or our galaxy.

Traveling between galaxies would not be fun.

Then again, who are we to say that the Reapers are actually small compared to the ones they may or may not work for, and that they have built Mass Relays with ranges of millions of light years?

Does this mean the mice need Shepard's brain to find the question? :D
Does this mean Reapers are the question to the meaning of life? Whoa.

I say, more than three Reapers, cos we know of three in game.

Yeah, but Sovereign's a troll.  I don't necessarily believe everything he says.

Look at it from a strategical viewpoint, given the scenario of ME3:

There must be enough to make a fight appear essentially hopeless, but not so many that they could attack all the worlds of the known galaxy at the same time. Let's say it takes ten Reapers to attack a homeworld like Earth, 3 for a developed colony world and 1 for an average colony. I've once calculated that the known galaxy has about 10-15k worlds. I'd say there are about 2000-3000 Reapers.

OVER NINETHOUSAND.

No seriously, based on some math I could say the Reapers could easily gain 18.000 for their number from humanity alone...

So. I would say over 10.000 for sure.

Between 8000 and 10000.. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to annihilate any sentient organic lifeform within a reasonable amount of time, and even so it probably takes a hundred or more years to check every world.

Too few. Also, the trailers show more than just ten Reapers attacking Earth. We also don't know how many troops a Reaper can transport, and ground troops are necessary to make sure you really kill everything worth killing. The average Reaper (let's take Sovereign) is about 2km long, which is larger than any other dreadnought, but still nothing more than a dreadnought. Even a hundred Reapers would need a lot of time to kill everything on a planet, even with an endless supply of husks. It's genocide, not a military operation.
