The sad thing is, I'm beginning to think that they DO reap other galaxies. Harbinger says we are approaching YOUR galaxy, not the galaxy or our galaxy.
Traveling between galaxies would not be fun.
Then again, who are we to say that the Reapers are actually small compared to the ones they may or may not work for, and that they have built Mass Relays with ranges of millions of light years?
