Okay, I am looking for peoples ideas and thoughts....I am trying to decide whether to shoot Elnora or not....she does directly threaten Shep with a gun...but at the same time too I see her situation as similar to Helena Blakes, but Helena lives in my game, it took me awhile to decide with her...Helena doesn't pull a gun, but she does say, "I would rather die before going to prison, I would most certainly kill before going to prison".....that is also a direct threat....Though as has been noted elsewhere, Helena is the devil you know, someone esle would just step into her shoes if Shep kills her....where as Elnora is just a regular pawn with no influence.

So given all that, now I am asking would you or wouldn't you shoot Elnora and why?

Jack sums it up best.
"Youre holding a gun and dressed in an enemy uniform, I'm going to kill you"

She pulls a gun on you. Because of the renegade interrupt I was drawn to that rather than what moves she made. So I let her go the first time and kept going. I didn't even notice the gun in her hand after the interrupt stopped flashing. It was afterward that I came to the boards and someone said she pulls a gun on you. I reloaded a save and saw that she does pull a gun...despite the fact that it was initially on the floor when she stood up. *shrugs*

Anyway, had I seen her draw before I would have put her down and I've done so with every subsequent playthrough.

Isn't that the Eclipse merc you meet during Samara's recruitment mission? If so, you should kill her.

You'll find out why once you've progressed far enough into that mission.

I let her live so I can impress Samara later. Then I turn her in to the police,at least her name and what she has done.!.

I killed her because i remembered what pitne 4 said about every eclipse merc having to kill someone before they get a uniform.

Considering it is an interrupt it isn't the sort of decision Shepard is really meant to think through. Shepard reacts or Shepard doesn't react.

In my Shepard's mind, Eclipse uniform = bullet in the head.

It is a bit of an odd scene.  The gun on the floor that Elnora looks at is a sub-machinegun (I think) but the one that she draws is a shotgun (presumably the murder weapon, you'd think Shepard would at least disarm her).  It almost feels strange that you even need the interrupt option, she basically goes from surrendering to drawing her weapon and it's hard to believe that Shepard and co. would just stand there.

The weapon in Elnoras hands is clearly an M9 Tempest SMG (the same as the one on the floor), it is likely she picked it up off screen.

As far as the decisions for Shephard to shoot, well, look at i this way: what would your Shephard do if a lone Eclipse mercenary drew an SMG on him? Admittedly, I don't think it would be to make some quip before shooting, but you roll with what you're given :P

Take Zaeed along with you, and he will explain why to shoot without metagaming.

She is an Eclipse merc and has earned her colors. That means she's had to kill someone along the way. You find out who latter.

I picked Renegade because Shepard gives no indication that he is gonna shoot. Then that **** tries to shoot him but her gun jams so I put her down.

Elnora dies for two reasons;

1. She's an Eclipse Sister and the only way she gets her uniform is killing someone.
2. She pulls a gun on Shepard.

Those are enough for me to pull the trigger and not lose any sleep over her, besides, finding out she murdered Dabni Kur with a grin and song in her heart just puts the final (metagaming nail) in Elnora's coffin.

It seems the majority rules is to shoot Elnora...for damned good reasons too...I guess I have just been feeling a bit jammed after my Shep let Helena go, given the similarities of the situations...Saphra has a good point, playing shooting Elnora as a knee jerk reaction, given with Helena it is a deliberate decision....there is also what Pitne For said, all Eclipse are proven killers....so even with out meta gaming the situation, Shep knows Elenora is a killer.

There is no doubt that she is a murderer, which (to me) entitiles her a bullet or two in the head. Not to mention that she pull a gun on you, so it would be in the name of self-defense (even though she doesn't shoot if you ignore the interrupt, but i don't think many really care).

Even if she hadn't already been a murderer, she pulls a gun on you; it's a justified killing. You should feel no remorse; for having put down a person stupid enough to draw down on three heavily armed and armored (in some cases) individuals, with large caliber weapons at the ready.

Most of my Sheperds reasoned that an SMG wasn't much of a threat and that they hadn't actually seen her do anything illegal. Don't really like the "You've made your choice" dialogue. Shooting her first and then saying that would have made more sense.

You're right, it is an SMG, although she seems to draw it from the Shotgun position (lower back) and that's probably what threw me off.  It's a shame Elnora doesn't have a Shotgun since that was the murder weapon.

You could argue that Shepard meant "I'm taking you in" and then only shoots when Elnora resists arrest.

I wish there was a paragon option where you shoot her gun which would disarm her. (Similar to Batman with his batarang)

I personally don't shoot her. Yes there are good reasons too shoot her but she's outnumbered 3 (+Squad-mates) to 1 and Elnora knows if she shoots she as good as dead.

I wanted more dialogue in order to shoot her I took the gun drawing as shocking but she didn't seem intent on using it I wanted to ask a few more questions so I could gauge weather or not she had intent. Other times I just shoot her because I'm in no mood to give her the benefit of the doubt of being a scared Eclipse girl.

Kensen however required no further Q and A I just shot her a grenade shows more intent then a prior scared girl drawing a gun on me.

That one volus said the eclipse sisters earn their uniform from killing people.

Other than that, she DOES pull a gun on you.

Her bluff was crap. Pretended to shoot? So you stood there going like "pew! pew! pew!" at me before you ran and hid? LOL okay.

I still would've let her go if not for her pulling her gun at the last second, at which point I was just kinda like "that's what I thought!" and killed her. I mean, she had surrendered afterall and I really don't know enough to take the law into my own hands. But the gun thing kinda just proves she's no less innocent than the rest of them and should be dealt with.

I wish you could grill for information and then make an actual choice to kill her or not.
