I received an email notice today that BioWear's forums were hacked. I had registered Neverwinter Nights Diamond as well as the original (non gold) version of Neverwinter Nights 2 under another email address and have not played the games in 3 or 4 years or logged into the forums in 3 to 4 years. I notice there is a new forum structure now and while I attempted to log in with my old email address, I do not remember the password. Requests to reset the password so far have not generated an email to my account despite the fact I tried to sign up again and it said that address is in use.
Since they moved the forums, is the password reset feature broke? If so, how safe is my account - is it secure or do I need to worry about disabling it or doing something else?
Hacked? Received email notice.

The question is only, did you use that login / password somewhere else, if so you should change it.
The hacking was detected pretty early, and they shut all the systems involved completely immediately prior to even fully knowing what was going on. The hackers may or may not have gotten anything. The information they possibly could have gotten was pretty minor compared to what they actually got from sony multiple times.
The forums you were on got completely shut down, and were no longer in use. Passwords would not even be in use if it were not for the fact that nwn still uses them. The fact there are passwords there, even though they are encrypted means it is possible to guess them by brute force, or other means. Very unlikely, but then if you use the same passwords all over you are very likely to have played a microsoft, playstation or one of 20 other gaming websites. It's time to change it.
These are EA forums use different logins entirely, either just ignore it, or use the login you just created. You'll need it anyway when you get dragon age. NWN2 was not even done by bioware. Its pretty confusing.
For real information and not just someone speculating ( i don't work for them in any way ) you should read and post in this thread Update to NWN Forum Hack and try to remember that EVERY gaming site is being hacked, it's just time to change passwords.
