Kinda like with Halo 3....where you got to "finish the fight" on the 360. Or have a look at MGS4...

Does anyone feel it's too soon? I mean, don't get me wrong...I love the ME series to death (and I prob. couldn't even wait that long) but the feeling of getting your hands on the game and playing through it for the first time after such a long time....would have had a greater impact on your perception of the game and would have made this final game of the trilogy THAT much more epic.

For all I know, ME3 could be the greatest game this gen. but judging from the demo we saw at E3 it looks pretty samey to me and I'm afraid that might detract from the overall experience. I know ME2 pretty much did all the innovations that are possible on the current gen. Unreal Tech. and it's all about the storytelling, characters etc. with Mass Effect but just imagine playing ME3 on Unreal Engine 4:

Not all of us can afford to get a new system every time the old one is outdone, so no.

Eh, graphics aren't all that important to me. At least not important enough to drop another $500-1000 on my computer or wait for a console that can handle it.

The next generation of consoles aren't planned for another four to five years, so as much as I think more development time would be nice, that length of time I think would be more harmful then helpful.

One thing to consider now too is game makers are trying to get their games to more consumers and some games are hitting the Uncanny Valley and turning off potential buyers because of the graphic level, so games aren't as high fiedility intentionally.

edit: to make more sense.

Waiting two years to finish the series is better than waiting four or five.

NO... the graphics are great as is... graphics being the only reason to move to next gen release is not worth it... however, another set of ME trilogies on next gen is welcome

Nah but I wouldn't mind a new Mass Effect game when the next gen consoles do arrive.

Perhaps a new trilogy set during the rachnii wars or the Krogan rebellions.

ME2 is a pretty enough game, and I don't want to wait more time to finish Shepard's story, so yeah no. Want ME3 asap.

I've never understood the fascination with nerds wanting their video games to look absolutely like real life. No, I want ME3 now. I feel emersed enough as is. I dont need photo realism.

You wouldn't, Shepard's story ends after 3.

Any future trilogy will not feature Shepard as the protagonist.

Unless they reboot the series. Which I feel would stagnate the series more than anything.

No.
Having already worked on the engine with ME2, ME3 just required slight engine tweaking, and Bioware could focus more on the plot elements of the game, plus (hopefully) removing some of the bugs that plagued ME2, such as clipping.
Give them a new engine to work with, and not only would we be waiting longer, we would also be disppointed by the amount of bugs that got shipped with it.

When Microsoft and Sony plan on releasing their next consoles, this current gen will have lasted for a decade, which is pretty ridiculous.

no. its fitting that the trilogy be on the same generation. That way bioware can create a new IP for the next generation.

btw, I prefer if bioware makes new IPs instead of making sequels. I don't want to play mass effect XIII 15 years from now.

Not to knock Unreal 4 or anything, but they've been making reflections on wet cement for a while. And that looks about the same, which is to say that it looks a little too clear of a reflection for being on cement.

It looks pretty and all, but I wouldn't site the reflections as a breakthrough of any kind.

Well it's not all about graphics, things like enviromental design, and the complexity you can put into AI scripting, ect ect, also make big jumps forward when new console hardware is released, (at least potentialy).  The current consoles are archaic, they were a few generations behind the hardware curve when they were released, and that was what, 5 years ago?  For ME it doesn't really matter though I guess, it's mostly about the story/characters,  the game wouldn't lose much even if it was on the PS1.

If its on another console how would we import our character?

Aside from that I don't care about graphics. I'm the kind of guy who likes to play RotTK, Way of the samurai, you name it.

Graphics are a bonus, not a deal breaker.

Of course having said that I don't like sequels getting worse graphics than its predecessor.

Nope. Very happy the entire trilogy made it in a single generation.

No. People ****ing about graphics are just graphics ****s. I'd wish the game industry would stop focusing on graphics for a few years and focus on more important aspects.

Visuals don't matter to me (I still play old PC games from the 90's and love them as much as new games)... so no... Mass Effect appeals to me because of the narrative & characters... a new console generation doesn't improve that.. it just makes pretty graphics, which I don't care about.

So no, I'd rather not have my ME3 delayed just for a few sexed up graphics... especially when the next console generation isn't realistically for another 3-4 years.

Lol. I'm sad enough that the game was pushed back to March 2012.
