The fact that she is not permanent means her involvement in the game is minimal.

And all I have to say to that is: Suck it fanboys, ME3 is shaping up quite nicely.

No, it doesn't.

.@Happyplace5834 Yes, Tali's back as a squadmember in #ME3 with a great continuation of her trilogy story arc.

Are you kidding?

Okay, jokes aside. if this rumor is true there is NO WAY TALI can have a large involvment in the game and be some quasi-squademate. she wasn't going to have a large role to begin with anyways, her plight with her people is a bit different from what Shepard is going through with EARTH, We can see why Ashley, Kaidan and Liara will have a large impact but I-no-see-connection-Tali.

Fortunately, at most we'll miss them for maybe one plot-mission. Which is still way too much, IMO.

Now, back to trollin' the trolls...

I don't think people will suddenly die. If they do we'll have options to save them. Remember this is Mass Effect. We always have a choice :P

Precisely. I'm actually having trouble thinking back to previous BW games, to when squadmates died without the player having any kind of say in it, and I'm drawing a blank.

Closest I can think of is virmire, and even then you could still at least choose who.

A certain character in BG2 comes to mind

Yes Yoshimo counts.
He was under a geas it's not like he had a choice in the matter.

Bring it.

Indeed.

It's not as if every squaddie had a unique conversation in the downtime between every mission in ME2. What is so appealing about permanence? I welcome diversity.

The character can die, and unless my memory fails me (it has been a long time, it may well) it's not possible to prevent their death. The character is also available as a full time party member from the beginning of the game. I'd say that fits the criteria I was responding to, don't you? How the death comes about via the plot doesn't matter, that's not what the other person was talking about.

Funny, considering the majority of your posts are usually trolling in a Tali thread.

Not one of my posts have been in a Tali thread. I stay away from threads that I don't like. hint, hint.

Bastila in KOTOR also leaves the party in like in 2/3 of the game. Doesn't die, but still.

I seriously doubt that there are no permanent squad-members.
Especially since an alternative appearance pack for the VS,Liara and Vega has already been announced. And such a DLC is even more pointless if the characters are leaving half way through the game.

Ooooh, I actually like the sound of this. It means you'll really have to watch your choices (and possibly make some really tough ones) to make sure your favorite squaddie doesn't die throughout the game. Fun fun! :D

@CaseyDHudson.@kainryckarr Tali will be able to join your team, but nothing's permanent in #ME3 - it's a story of full-scale war, with lots of twists.
I saw this on twitter. So no squad member is permanent? OMG this might mean squadies die in the middle of the game

I think we will get a few Perm and everyone else will be Temp.

One Preview did state that we will have access to selected Squad members at any time.
Where others we will only have access to at Specific Times.

This look like no one will be available for all missions.

That better not mean we're stuck with Ashley/Kaidan and Liara the entire game. *grumbles*
