Did anyone else get an email from the GM of EA saying that the BoiWare servers were hacked? The email wants you to click on a link to reset your password. I don't click on links in emails, but would like to know if this is a phishing attempt, or legit.

Thanks, I feel it's always better to be a bit cautious, rather than jump right in!

I've instantly recognized it was legit because link directed you to EA website. I hate changing passwords, I keep them all in a paper notebook (no way you can hack paper) and the more you change em, the less space is left...
Naturally, I've changed password. Someone should find and jail those hackers already.

I had a hard time changing my password, because the e-mails with the link to change my password always took to long to arrive, and when they finally arrived, the link had already expired.
I finally got one with a working link.

Companies that have been hacked so far are
Play Station Network
Codemasters
CCP
BioWare
CCP managed to detect the attack before it took hold and pulled all their servers offline. No damage was done to their systems.

I was a bit hesitant to take it seriously too, because it showed up in my SPAM folder!

If you're hesitant to follow the link in the email, or the link has already expired, you can change your EA master account password by going here: https://profile.ea.c...angepassword.do
And here's a great article about choosing and remembering passwords for the various sites you visit: http://lifehacker.co...great-passwords

I'd feel easier if characters like '/' , '~' , '%' or '\\' were allowed within passwords,
not just letters and numbers.

This is beyond annoying.

Yeah I got the same email and almost deleted it. After having received extremely official looking fake emails from blizzard, the completely plain one from bioware just looked too fake to be true.
As a heads up to bioware you might want to actually post an announcement of that importance in a forum people actually look at, with mass effect 3 and dragon age 2 at the top I had no idea a bioware general forum even existed.
