Hi,
A friend of mine is trying to install Mass Effect 1 in his laptop. It's an HP compaq 6730 (specs h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/en/WF05a/321957-321957-64295-321838-3955547-3687777.html )
To sum up, he has:
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8700
I think 2 Gb of RAM
Graphics card: Mobile Intel® GMA 4500MHD
Windows 7 (Professional, I believe)

It installs fine and the Launcher screen works properly. However, once he tries to play the game, the screen fades to black and exits to desktop. Trying to execute directly from the mass effect  exe doesn't work, either.
He tried compatibility mode to WXP, but it's still not working. In this case,he gets an error message like this:

Image IPB

Not sure what's wrong, I made it work in Windows 7 on my computer without issues. I've also checked his PixelShaders and DirectX and everything looks fine. Any help? :crying:

This game requires a real 3D graphics system from a real 3D graphics company such as AMD and nVIDIA. Intel doesn't count at all.

Yeah, I know it's bad, but bad enough not to be able to run it? It's a 2007 game, after all.

Intel never made those things well enough to play games on and even a game from 2007 has requirements far beyond what they can do. Beyond simple buisiness graphics they are pretty much hopeless.
