Would it be possible when ME3 comes out to copy ME3 engine in ME2 folder and ME folder play ME/ME2 in this new engine?
Is UE3 engine optimized in ME3 as in ME2?:)

I've never seen that in any game. I seriously doubt that will be possible.

Or you could just buy the PS3 version of ME2. If you have a PS3 that is...

The Mass Effect games use a heavily modified version of the UT3 engine and each game will call differently on the engine. I think its going to take a lot more work than just replacing the game engine files to get the games working correctly.

The only game that I know that you can reliably change the engine is Baldur's Gate but you need to use the Baldur's Gate Tutu mod which takes the two installs and combines them.

For ME2 even if you could I am not sure if you will really see that much of a difference, for the PS3 release of ME2 didn't seem noticeably different from my PC version when I saw a friend playing it.

With ME1 I doubt it would be possible because the games are so different in how the game fuctions.

Edit: ME1 Comments.
