Man you youngsters and your gripes with disk swapping.

Back in my days, we rejoiced when a game came with multiple disks. It was a miracle beyond comprehension.

What is this world coming to?

Surely you're not talking about consoles. Consoles have historically been one-cartridge one-game. Unless you're talking about modern consoles, but then your "back in my days" would be like five years ago. ;-)

The game will surely be at least two discs, if only because of all the fake precaptured video sequences they're going to stick in there.

The Playstation 1 would like to have a word with you... I had multiple games for that that were on multiple discs, and I was the happiest damned boy on the planet. That was 16 years ago for those of you who are counting.

Is it really that old? And they let them do multi-disc titles before 2000?

But you're right. Somehow the CD consoles never filtered into my brain when making that statement.

So, just came across this in another thread.

I'm kind of surprised I didn't see it earlier, as it's an old article. Did I just miss it or was it discredited?

If it's true, than damn. Either they became much better at the compression, even accounting for the new, upgraded Xbox discs, or they must have really recycled alot to get it all on one. PS3 I can understand, since they can have alot more on one disc. But I 'm hard pressed to see how they could fit it all on one PC or Xbox disc without sacrifing either the quality or content of the game.
