Think about it. There might have been more Collector Cruisers mauling humans in distant colonies. Their return would make an interesting plot point! :)

I am fully hoping some Collectors are still out there, they were a fun enemy.

i dont think they will as harbinger controls them and at the end he says releasing control so i doubt they will come
and also mass effect 2 would be pretty pointless stopping the collectors from taking the colonists and then in me3 they start disapearing again and you find out its the damm collectors again

i just misunderstood u scrap above that would be interesting because with out reaper control they could think independently and then if they are protheans start to regain thier memories and then help destroy the reapers

Umm, but theorize this time the Collectors are aiding the Reapers in combat.
Fun guaranteed.

Then ME2 = pointless

Umm, no, most Collectors died in ME2, but if you think rationally, you might agree that some Collectors got lucky.

The end of the game was pretty obvious it was over. Harbinger was no longer guiding them...they'd be pretty much zombies. assuming there were any left from the collector base, even though it was destroyed.

I'll eat my hat if I see more collectors in ME3.

I like the collectors but they are finished in ME 2 and honestly they should be finished in ME 2. With that said I think it might be interesting if the reapers try to mutate a different species into another collector race to replace the ones we destroyed. It would also be interesting if Harbinger actualy had some collectors on board of him since he was the reaper in charge of the collectors.

Why Would they?
Mass Effect 2 was already largely pointless, this would make it worse.

If the collectors come back, we deal with them the same way we deal with everything else. Explosions and mounting body counts.

A reaper could be carrying an army of collectors inside it. There were trillions of Protheans once remember..

lol I doubt your average collector was even that aware.  They will little more than husks.  You could probably call collectors organice robots.

Yeah maybe harbinger would have collectors on board.  I really want to board harbinger.

I'm pretty sure that you can see one getting shot in the first ME3 trailer (the enemy inside the mysterious sniper's scope), so they will probably make a return in the third game (though they have probably dwindled in numbers).

It really isn't clear what tha enemy is since all I can make out is a humanoid shape.  I assume it was just a husk but sometimes people take CGI teaser trailers too seriously.

Mordin said all their organs were replaced by tech, really a Collector is a drone, nothing more. The only Collector that we saw that had any sort of free, sentient ability was the General, and he was killed.

I think if there's any more Collectors out there, they're like the Replica Soldiers from F.E.A.R., just sitting there inactive.

The Collectors are detritus floating in space right now, if they do somehow "magically" return in ME3 than ME2 will have been pretty pointless...
