Hey, I have just bought Mass Effect for PC, the EA Value Games edition, and when I try to install it, it just gets stuck at 26% more or less, when it's unpacking data02 file. I have tried to copy the files from the disc to my hdd and then installing, but it's the same, when i'm copying them, it just gets stuck, and I can't progress.
I have searched in a few forums and there is a lot of people having this issue. Anyone could help me? Like...sending me an email with the file or something like that, I'm from a foreign country (Argentina), I bought the game from Amazon (I imported it with a few other games, including ME2 and Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition), and I can't return it. Please, I'm not asking for the whole game, just de data02.rar file, It's only 450MB.
Thank you :)

Have you tried any of the fixes mentioned in other threads, such as the one I mentioned in this thread, which is still onthe front page of this forum?

I can't extract the .rar files, I mean, the data02.rar freezes, and I have to restart my computer. I tried copying the files to my HDD and the extracting, but it freezes too. I know it's a problem with that particular file (data02.rar), either when i'm copying it or when i'm trying to extract it, the installation freezes.
I read that there is a problem with this file in some of the EA value games edition, so I'm asking if someone can upload that file (to reapidshare or megaupload) so I can download it and install it. I don't want to download the game ilegaly (If I wanted that, i would have already done it), I bought it because I want to have it original, but this damn file is corrupted or something like that.

I have the same issue. I called support 3 times. Two of them told me it was my graphics card. I know this is not the case because I ran it on my main machine just fine a couple years ago. I have also tried to install on 4 different machines with the same results. Two of them have ME 1 supported cards in them.
I am 95% into downloading a digital version. However I am worried it won't work either. I have tried so many "fixes" my machine no longer atempts to install it. It simply tells me the install was cancelled.

I have an AMD 6950, I'm sure that the graphics card is not the problem, I mean...it's a new card, I ran the game in a GeForce 9400 a couple years ago.

It's your disk. Get a clean digital if you can. If you are lucky, EA tech support will help you with this.

I just chatted with EA support and they hooked me up with a digital license after I proved I owned the value games copy (I took a photo of the case, disc and receipt).
