I think I know this but just wanted to double check it.
When you playing single player and you have say an inventory item (or player skin) that you store variables on and you export that character, making a copy character in the local vault does all the variables on that item copied over get wipped? I think it get wipped right?

To my understanding only variables on the PC wont transfer. ( They are also removed on server restart )
Also creature skins are items aswell.

AFAIK only variables stored on items inside containers (bags, large box etc) remain - others are cleared.

Well from testing, the variables are saving on skin or item for server games. They are not on copied player single player games (EG. Alavuian Darkstar(get variables in adventure) export to Alavuian Darkstar (1) loses thoughs variables) I have to save to DB I guess and load them back on for when the exported character want to carry over to a connecting single player game. Maybe I scripting it wrong though LOL

Ahhh thanks Alex, I hit post right after yours, hmm so I have to put a item in a bag if I want to save the info. Ok that workable too.

For players in servervault, all variables are saved. I can't see why it'd be different in local vault - the bic structure is the same. OTOH, for DMs, which ARE localvault, they DO have to be in a container, so I'm guessing you're right, though it makes no sense to me.Alex Warren wrote...

Thanks for the confirmation, I tried to find this on the net / forums but kept taking me to the old forums which are down.

your problem is most likely with the x3 horse scripts.
your vars are getting saved. the problem is that the default system is most destroying the skin that you have and giving you a new one. I do not know where in the scripts that happens at though.
