Hello, after installing the latest update im a bit disappointed.

When i had v1.00 i could look around with the mouse WITHOUT holding LMB.

Now i have to hold the button and its really annoying.

Any way to fix it?

Have another question btw:

Is the game graphically demanding? Im having framerate issues in almost every setting.

I can play CSS and Deadspace very smooth in the highest settings. Isnt those two more demanding?

Sorry for bad english

Best Regards

Nwn2 is very graphically demanding. Not because its graphics are super awesome by today's standards, it just is what it is.

Camera is ajustable in the settings and ini files.

Incidentally; I never understood the so demanding argument. My old pc was a 2.4 ghz core 2 Duo with a $100 graphics card and 2gb ram, yet I had no problems building and testing my campaign.

I can play the game OK but i guz im a little picky. More used to console-gaming when the framrate rarely is a problem.

Maybe its my processor thats too old cuz my ram is 2GB DDR3 and GPU is 1GB GDDR5.

Anyway im still not sure the gamera thing is able to fix the way it was with the v1.0 update.

Incidentally, my computer is far better than what should be required for the game (AMD 6800 series GPU, i7 processor), but there's a curious "bug" in the framerate that I see while walking - it seems very choppy (though all animations are very smooth). The "fix" was to reboot my machine, until I found someone had provided a clever addon that "resolves" the problem. Search for "ATI choppy graphics" in the forum for help...

Scratch that - searching for ANYTHING on the NWN2 forums nets zero results. Wow - the search function is now completely useless. What the heck happened?

edit:  OK, I found the "Client Extension" I was mentioning above:

http://social.biowar...1/index/3116438

I've been running it now for the past month or so (crawling my way slowly through the Original Campaigns, which I never finished).

It didnt work.

Ive read the readme file and according to that one, "older" amd-CPU:s wont work with this client.

is the nwn2main_amdxp-file a sign of an older amd-CPU?

My CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor

Best regards

No, I wouldn't have thought so. The game was released in 2006, long after the 64 bit athlons were available (yours is a dual core version of that processor came out, more or less). I remember when there was a stink about using some 64 bit like extensions that would only work on AMD Athlon processors, but that was for a different game, I think.

The AMDXP version of the game was meant for the Athlon XP, the predecessor of the Athlon-64, which is what your processor is based on. I don't believe that's the case.

The game is fairly graphically demanding, though not at the Crysis level.

BTW, what actual graphics card do you have? It turns out memory and memory type of the graphics card doesn't mean much for performance. It may be that your GPU isn't quite speedy enough to handle it.

you have me curious. [self-snip confusing discussion about camera modes] Usually ya always have to engage a key or MB to use mouseLook! the Long to short: in Options->keymapping->camera the key/MB can be set to yer preference (i'm using Delete, but also have the keyboard almost entirely remapped for my left hand ..)
