Well Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival are pretty relevant for the story!
Atleast try those, I'm not a "money cow" aswell but those, plus Overlord and Kasumi deserved my money.

Zaeed and Hammerhead were free, I wonder why you even mentioned Zaeed there oO

They weren't exactly free, their part of the collector's or digital deluxe edition.

I bought neither and I got the DLCs for free.

What, it comes with the Cerberus Network for every new copy.

I don't understand why you feel so entitled. Why should these add-ons be free? Name one product where add-ons are free? You can't go to mcdonalds and order extra sauce without an addon fee. I doubt a missions, that probably takes months of development is going to be free.

There's an argument to be made about the price versus gamelength. But you're acting like a spoiled brat expecting it "Free".

I don't care what you feel about that. I only care how this will effec the New Game selection in ME3.

Yeah according to reports, LOTSB and Arrival are considered "canon" and to have happened regardless of if you played them or not.

Zaeed and Kasumi both being DLC, I would imagine would show up as a cameo in ME3 or something to that nature.

Same with overlord, I imagine a mention to that being made somewhere.

Zaeed and Hammerhead are free for everyone with new game copy (not used).

Edit: Ninjas everywhere

Interesting. I don't recall any claim code in the box.

Just buy the DLC.

Again, no.

Then don't complain about missing out.

It's like you refused to buy popcorn and drinks at the movie theatre, and then got mad because other people weren't hungry and thirsty like you were.

Well,
it's a fact, so either you got ripped off, or more likely, you didn't
look very thoroughly. Or possibly you're just trolling.

Telling some one to "just buy the dlc" is pointless. Some people don't have the access to buy the dlc or the memory to store them. I don't know if that's the case for the op but there are people who cannot get the dlc and I would like to know how Bioware is going to handle the story for those people since I used to be one of those people.

Well it will effect your new game regardless, Arrival happened and LOTSB happened. Simple as that. They'll be considered part of the default choices in ME3 I assume, since either one only has one real outcome.

If you use steam or don't mind start using it, there are great sales there sometimes and you could buy digital deluxe edition that includes Cerberus Network quite cheap. Last sale week that included ME was about 2 months ago.

Yeah, they weren't tied to the CE or DE, they were included with all new copies for a limited time (similar to Shale in Origins, where she came with every new copy but the code expired after several months).

Who's complaining? I just want to know what all this stuff is going to do to my game.

They make all this optional stuff and they give you all these extra choices and missions to play if you're willing to pay. That's all well and dandy if you view it as a good thing (I don't). But I didn't do anything wrong. I didn't spit in anyone's face by opting out on these options.

We were given this "option" and I want to know how it's going to play out in the start of my game. It's simple enough.

Hey if the man doesnt want to play or pay for the DLCs, reiterating sales and what not is not going to make him.

OP. I would say if you dont want to play them... you can at least read the synopsis on Mass effect wiki! :)

But to answer your question, again, whether you play the DLCs or not, They happened come the beginning of ME3.

You will have some minor content set as "default", instead of being able to change it your way. What i mean is that not buying the dlc won´t stop you from defeating the reapers, or make the game significantly harder or different. At most you will see less details in some parts or some small consequences that you had no control over.

You've already been told what will happen, repeatedly.

LotSB and Arrival will be assumed to have have happened. You will no doubt get the default choices from them.

As for "cannot get the DLC", can you explain how that would possibly happen? I can't think of any reasonable scenario in which it wouldn't be possible to get the DLC for ME2. From what I hear, even pirates can get the DLC.

All the scenarios I can see for not having the DLC revolve around voluntarily choosing not to get it. Or having an Xbox 360 Arcade, in which case you can't even play some games.

What? No; they're accessible through the Cerberus Network.

You get access to the Cerberus Network through the use of a one-time code card.

You get a code to access the Cerberus Network if you buy the game NEW.

Badly. they want you to buy their stuff, they'll prob just slap you with the default decisions. Nothing too bad. So topic over?

Oh, I dunno, you post a lot of troll-like things in a number of threads, but then there are some people out there who are just "contrary", not trolls, so maybe that's it.

I would never let any choices or events occur without me being present. Think about how ME2 starts, with Wrex dead. Really? That is unacceptable. I have dozens of ME1 saves and imports and Wrex is alive in each and every one of them.

This might be easier to deal with for DLC because there are no major choices in LOTSB or Arrival, but there are choices in Kasumi and Zaeed. I am surprised anyone who cares about the ME franchise is willing to let default options occur in any of their imports.

There are just a lot of people that are very wrong a lot of the time and I get off on pointing it out. B)

Zaeed? Kasumi? Liara becoming the [spoiler here]? Arrival?

I didn't play any of these. I'm never going to play any of these until they start handing them out for free or in a big package deal. So what happens to my game at the start of ME3? One of these was even apparently critical to the beginnig narative of ME3.

They are assumed to have happened when you start ME3. I believe Casey said that during an E3 video.

Given how extreme the events of Arrival are, I don't think it's just as simple as saying that they're assumed to have happened.

Starting the game by telling people that their character, unknown to them, wiped out a star system and is on trial for mass murder is a bit problematic.
