somewhere BW said that they would be some introductions of additional alien races we would ecnounter in ME# (dont ask me to cite, i forgot where :( )

so does that mean we are going to see the female versions of salarians and turians (volus, elcor, yahg?) aswell?
and since we saw a human child during E3 does that mean we might be able to see some alien children?
(like during tali's loyalty mission, we saw/heard a recording of one of the scientists leaving a message for her child, so could that be a carry over side mission for ME3?)

It probably refers to seeing the females of the races, but there are a few that are mentioned in codices or in the EU that could crop up, like the virtual aliens (although how they'll handle that, I have not a clue).

Alien kids would be cute, but they would take a decent amount of time to render.

Bah. Someone please explain to me this OBSESSION with seeing the female alien versions? Turians, Salarians. What don't you guys want to see? Would something as insignificant as a boob addition impact our game in a good way? NO!!!!!

Refocus friends, plot, gameplay, and gamelength. everything else is trivial.

and kind of stupid.

It's balance, Zeelie. We need a lot of alien loving to maintain equilibrium for your hate of them.

well who wouldnt like to see how the BW team came up with the character designs for female aliens, i mean this is the last game of the ME trilogy so why not have all the explanations/character designs there so you have a full understanding of the ME universe.

and im 105% sure that the females of different alien races have ALOT to do with plot and charecter depth, and shepard's impact on the population of other alien species. i mean if you saw a spectre go up to some random quarian kid and talk to(renegade/paragon) him about his mother dying on board the Rya(?) wouldnt yu think alot differently about him/her?

Who says we can't have both... I'm sure they've had the concepts for the females for a long time, maybe even the models.. No telling how much it'll cut into production time to toss some more girls into the game.

Except a friggin character design is not that hard to do. Hell, we the fans could do it if we had a .PCC compiler.

Textures/Meshes are not hard to make, nor do they take up much time.

ok thats fine, but ALOT of other people who play mass effect have also read the novels, or comics, and even played the iphone app so they get a deeper feel for playing the ME trilogy.

just like how BW said if you havent played ME1&2 you wont berestricted from certain gameplay in ME3, but you wouldnt have a complete understanding of the story.

and like i said in the OP, there are a few plot elements in the game which are focused on the entrire alien race, females and children, but we have never encountered any of them yet, only heard people talking about them.

If it was so easy. How come we haven`t seen any?

Methinks designing aliens isn't as easy as you think.

Children are very, very rarely incorporated into mature games. The possibility of killing one tends to put people off.

As for the females, I feel like part of it might be that we see a lot of asari running around, which most people tend to register as female. If we divided all the other races into the game along gender binary lines, a lot of people would be screaming about why are there so many girls, y u hate menz?

Designing aliens isn't the simplest thing- character design never is- but as they already have the template, it would be far from the most difficult.

That is the worst COUNTER argument I've ever seen.

Fact is, its hard to do female versions without just slapping some boobs on it and calling it a day. Obviously, Bioware wants to avoid making their aliens look "too-human" . So they've stayed away from the concept.

I didn't realize we were arguing, cause if we were, making sweeping statements as to the ease of doing something is ridiculous. Unless you've designed, modeled, and animated the female versions of ME aliens before.... Have you Mr. Zeel, or are you talking out of your ass in a veiled attempt to win an "argument"?

For once i feel like agreeing with King Troll, it can't be that easy to do, and yes, Salarians/Krogan/Turian/Batarian's with boobs won't be enough..

Side Note: Female Vorcha? o_______o

I create textures and meshes for games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion. It's not that hard.

In fact coming up with it in your head can be more difficult than actually creating the files.

The addition of boobs to anything is an improvement.

I'm most interested in seeing Salarian females since reading about them in the codex.

As for kids, hate them IRL and in games/tv/film they are usually ten times worse (except for Arya in Game of Thrones).

No one said it would be easy, but they've been working on the ME franchise for a long time.. To assume they have no concept or even rough models is absurd.

why would BW want to throw ALL their character designs in right away and leave no anticipation? we didnt see any male quarians until ME2.

and if you watched the E3 videos you could tell they added the female krogans, so what is stopping them from adding turian and salarian females? i mean it would make sense not to add any female salarians or turians if they were like the asari where they dont need the 'oposite sex' to make offspring, and garus and a random salarian at eternity already stated that there WAS females of ther race, so i'm pretty sure there is alot of anticipation to see the females gender of these two species atleast.

exactly, and why would they even mention the females of those species if they had no intention of adding them into ME3?

Well there's the yahg for one. The rachni will be coming around I estimate and that Cerberus News Network did mention the Riola were just inducted into the galactic community.

Btw anyone know what a harvester is?

BtwX2 You can see female turians if you got the Mass Effect comic featuring the Illusive man from Darkhorse comics.
