Silly idea I just made up that would be fun...

 What if BioWare made the option that you CAN import a ME2 save in ME3 where Shepard died?

So you import this ME2 save where Shepard is dead and what you'll get is a few minute long short movie on how the Reapers arrive at earth, how they destroy everything and how everyone says "if Shepard was here... he would know what to do..." with teary eyes of course. Then everything goes to hell and you get a big "CRITICAL MISSION FAILURE" on your TV. You'll think "well that sucks" and then you'll import a ME2 file where Shepard is still alive, so you can play the actual game, with the big knowledge of how it COULD finish if Shepard wasn't here. I can assure you, that you'll feel 100% more badass than before seeing the "if Shepard died in ME2" alternative short movie.

For those who didn't notice. I'm not being super serious here. Still, I think it would be a fun easter egg or something. What do you guys think?

Whatever, it's an okay idea. I thought you were gonna go in some ridiculous direction like making Garrus the new main.

Maybe Joker has super mutated super human legs in ME3. I mean, his legs where already significantly stronger in ME2 compared to ME1. At least, if we assume Joker wasn't lying about his "modern to severe" vrolik syndrom in ME1.

If shep comes up being a zombie the whole game then I'd think OK with a dead shep being imported from 2 to 3 but other then that no they already said if you were commander fail and died in 2 you won't be able to use said commander fail in 3.

Screw that. Just throw EDI into a Gundam and make Joker the pilot.

They can't do that. No save is made when Shepard dies; they'd have to go back and patch ME2, and Bioware don't go back to old games for patching once they've moved on.

I like this idea as well, especially since it give the player a sense of importance and urgency to get it right as they play through ME3.

This would need to be able to be done as soon as you install the game, though, if you have a dead-Shepard to import, or available to everyone once you've completed the campaign.

what would be even better is if your imported shepard died you could start a new game as one of the other alien races (mainly the main character's races). That would expand the role playing experience IMO, because then you could see how the various alien character classes play out with the various combat and dialogue advantages and disadvantages that certain alien races would have over others.

I'm really happy for you, and Imma let you finish, but Shepard is the only hero who can save us from the reapers. The ONLY hero who can save us from the reapers!

I am not a big fan of this one, since that would mean that the rest of the human race is to dumb to do something.

Maybe you could let the virmire surviver take over from shepard, but ultimately fail. You still play through the game, but you fail to rally allies and fail througout. Leaving perhaps only the Renegade option open (whatever that is), or even fail near the end.

But that might require a lot of work though...

Screw that. We don't need to play through a whole game while we know at start that we're going to FAIL because we have no Shepard on our team. A nice, short, dramatic movie would be enough.
