If they didn't and intended the VS to survive altered then it would be a plot twist that the VS romance fans wouldn't like.Captain Crash wrote...
Especially since Tim confirms the Collectors chose the planet because of the VS presence and to see if it would be selected because they are after Shepard. I would think the first thing they would go after would be the reason why they selected the colony in the first place.

She was running for some time and that mechanic still had a lot of time seeing her get paralyzed by Seeker Swarm and not get himself caught too.
Also we saw a lot of people still no picked up near that area where she was taken.

But the VS was 30 BLOODY METERS from Harbinger and they hit that planet because the VS was on it. Wouldn't they notice him/her and pick him/her up since they used to be a part of Shepards squad and because that's the whole reason they picked that planet?

Maybe the policy for the collection is land go way out from the ship and collect backwards but that collection policy is backwards! You should land, collect whats closest to you then fan out from there. Unless they're uber stupid or uber confident and equal parts arrogant.
VS should've been Horizon collected somethings up.
EDIT: VS was also too calm after going through all that. In ME Ash runs and meets up with shep she is shaken, out of breathe, and scared on Horizion she acts like she's just strolling through the park and says Shep's so great he's a god (cringe). Kaiden was shaken up over the loss of Jenkins and is upset over Ash's death if you choose him yet he walks out all cool like he's going to get the mail and says Sheps a hero ummm 90% of the colony you were suppose to be looking out for just got put on a ship dude.

The collectors have no reason to hurry or even worry about getting everyone all at once. They have never been stopped, and have more firepower than most ships around. The planet/area is locked down so why rush and why spend a bunch of time identifying or looking for one person when you have the ENTIRE COLONY in the bag? When Shepard shows it throws the whole operation off, and please remember loading a couple hundred thousand people isn't going to happen instantly, and no telling how long it took Shepard to get there after everyone is frozen.

Fire power what fire power? Once the thing is sitting there the guns are turned towards the sky there is no fire power or else it would've directed it's guns at the colony defense grid.
Also if they were that slow shouldn't someone from past colonies been able to have been dispatched to look into the lack of communication and still found the collectors taking people into the ship? Just how much time would they need for a small colony with little defense? They only hit small ones they avoided large ones.

People who were only few meters from Harbinger weren't collected.

Only reasonable explanation would be very, very bad news for VS fans.

We can imagine that the paralizing effect of the seeker swarms is only short-term, as the purpose is to put the human inside the pod to be carried away then (this is seen in freedom progress). Ashley/Kaidan would recover from the paralysis after a few minutes (we assume the whole fight) and get up to see what is going on.
Of course it would be easier if bioware had given an actual reason, instead of not mentioning it. Anyway i think that the fact the virmire survivor was not taken away is not something unbelievable, but it required some kind of explanation that the game simply did not provide.
