I support the Gina Carano choice. Her face model would be pretty damn perfect for Shepard, if you ask me.

SHE'S A MMA FIGHTER? HOLY COWWW!!!!!

I support Gina Carano as face model for FemShep!

Yeah - you can probably find loads of highlights of her fights on YouTube.

I would certainly support her physique being the model for FemShep (not the boobs, obviously, but the rest of her) - I can't stand how skinny FemShep's body model is in some of the non-armor clothing, and it would make way more sense for her to be more built and solid.

As for who should be the face - meh, I don't mind too much; I'll be sticking with the face I've made, anyway.

P.s. Speaking of female mma fighters, they're a pretty good example of female fighters moving with masculine body language when they're in that mode.  Not really to do with the thread, but I guess it adds something to the whole female animation debate.

The best thing for them to do is give us some body options for ME3. The idea being that either your Shepard is still the really thin woman she was before (which I kinda liked), or that she's been training hard for several months, and has bulked up a bit (which you'd like--hell, I'd like that too).

Thing is shes proven in two games she doesnt have to look built up like a mma fighter to kick butt.   Dont see why she needs it now.

Although I agree a little more on the arms would be better.  :)

Personally, I think Lea Michele would fit well.

Though Genevieve Cortese also seems like a really good choice, not too sure on Morgan Webb, though.

Just my two cents~

Well, we can also say she's proven that her physique can magically change depending on what outfit she's wearing (e.g. the meatier arms in the farmgirl outfit vs. the super skinny ones in scientist one) :P.  I don't really like that inconsistency, and I'd have a much easier time believing that the body underneath the armor (I think she looks ideal when in armor) was a build like Carano's.  It's a bit of a minor thing, I think it would make her way more believable.

The thing with that though was it just showed Bioware really didnt put that much attention into her ME2. The texture quality of those outfits compounds that further.  I still agree with you completely about the inconsistencies and it is annoying.  However I dont think thats a reason for her to sudden develop Carino's attributes just because it.

But I think we should leave this to Bioware, they virtually got it spot on. While we agree something should be done, were certainly in disagreement in the scale they should do it.  Im sure they will figure a good balance.

Totally agree  :)

The original post he made sort of skewed my intended message I felt.  However after some very impressive fan feedback its his follow up message hit home on everything.

Im just really glad he took the time to write up about it and read everyones opinion.  This is why we all love Bioware!

I dislike the generic FemShep. She's just so blah and dull and bland. The best anyone really says about her is she's "fine" or "okay". So is toast without anything on it. Boring. I agree with Skaldfish as well about her proportions being off.

There, I said it. *ducks*

I'm hoping that Twitter truly has it right, because if so, then we'll likely be getting Morgan Webb. She even looks a little bit Sigourney Weaver. She has rather strong features but is pretty. And in real life, she is an actual gamer, not just one of those pretty faces who never touched a game before.

She's pretty perfect. She LOVES Mass Effect. Who amongst all the others proposed here can you say that about? Though I love Stana Katic's look and acting, Morgan Webb is someone who actually has played the series, gets the series. That's something unique by itself.

Goapele looks awesome, though. If they don't use Morgan, I would love it if she looked like that, or Michelle Rodriguez.

Gina Carano's face is too cute to work for FemShep in my book, but her physique is essentially perfect. Too bad FemShep looks so skinny without her armor on.

Never considered her at first, but looking at her again (from the many photos online of her), I have to agree now that Morgan Webb does have great facial features to be the default FemShep.

I think her voice actress Jennifer would be a good model. She's pretty, mature-looking, and at least her face would go along with her voice.

EDIT: I never really liked Morgan Webb (saw this after I posted) because (as a female gamer) I think she gives female gamers a bad rep. She's not funny or interesting, and her voice just irks me. She shows off her assests a little too much, which is not what playing games is about. I think some women just use physical traits in gaming to get attention. This is why I would hate her as the face model for a game I adore (eh, I'll just use my face anyway).

Nia Long
Famke Janssen
Mariska Hargitay
Sanaa Latham
Milla Jovovich
Lena Headey
Cate Blanchett
Michelle Yeoh
Stephanie Jacobsen
Ming-Na
Sonja Sohn

I hate myself for not being able to come up with a Middle Eastern or Latina celebrity who would seem suitable off the top of my head.

If they choose to go with a RL actress/model who is *gasp* Mark Vanderloo's age, I hope they won't try to make her look younger than him.

I have a femshep that looks similar to her. Of course I lost the file and have to remake it. I have to remake all of my ME2 saves, can't wait.

I dunno... Carano's got a fairly square face and looks quite a bit tougher than any of those, methinks :P

I'd rather not have someone famous, it doesn't really help with the immersion if you're playing as a recognisable face. And from BioWare's point of view it's a bit of unnecessary expense.

They should just get some random model.

I think Angie Harmon has a good "Commander Shepard" vibe.
