Think we would get to fight floating in open space with rocket packs or boosters in ME3? Would be pretty cool.

My squadmates have enough trouble finding cover with gravity as it is.

Would be pretty meh.

"Meh," as in "Wow, did Mass Effect really need jet packs in space?"

There are a few ways to do it.

Dead Space 2 and Shattered Horizon are two I'm aware of.

Here's a trailer for the second: Shattered Horizon

Well astronauts get around with thrusters in their suits, right? Or is it just in movies.

No. They spent time just refining the ground fighting. Those rocket drones were enough air compat for me. I've yet to see aerial fighting done in a way that looks as stylish as it sounds. In ME3 I guess Cerberus hitsquads are using boosters and that's fine as long as the roll works to avoid them and I can shoot the back of the packs to cause some air explosions that's fine but as for my character, I'm going to leave the flying to Joker.

They could just make it like in the endgame of ME1 or in Legion's Loyalty Mission.

Doesn't have to go too far.

Technically, the battle inside the citadel in ME1 was zero G. Even had a cut scene showing you floating from the busted elevator before being magnetized or whatever to the "ground"

I wouldn't mind it. In fact, I support the idea. I think a 5-minute segment of zero-G gameplay would be pretty cool.

That remains one of my favorite scenes of the series so far. "Suit up! We're going outside." Image IPB

"Suit up"? Aren't they already wearing the suits?

That was the line, I double checked. I believe it meant to seal their suits helmets...

Not that half the ME2 squad would have been able to do that though...

And where should we find an excuse to turn off artificial gravity except on the Citadel?

zero gravity combat certification is for spaceship combat. Artificial gravity is turned off during battle, to minimize heat buildup on ships to prolong the time they can stay in combat before having to retreat.

No not cool I hate rocket packs and fighting in space is unhealthy I mean if your magnetic boots come off of the surface and then you get hit by a person or rocket you're going sailing through the black abyss and you aren't coming back. I mean I'd like to do some repair work or something in space the but my shep now has space phobia from being tossed out and dying in it.

And if Jack and Miranda can't get their suits on when the haull gets breached again they shoudl get sucked out and explode in space. BW breathing masks =/= space suits.

Maybe their regular clothing was pressure suits. Like X-Wing pilots orange clothing in Star Wars.

I wouldn't exactly want to "fly" around in Zero-G environments. But I feel like Mass Effect is wasting huge amounts of potential by not making gravity a factor of gameplay in at least some missions. Even if it all means is enemies float off after dying it just makes the game that much more surreal and fun.

I am sure Bioware can do it. But I don't think its going to add much more to our game experience if its Zero G or simulated gravity. Plus the amount of time required to do it could be spent on something else.

Basically I think this is one of those things that would be cool to add, however there are time constraint issues. Spending time on this means something else wont be done.

Does that mean there will be no outside space combat in ME3? Probably not, I think we will just get the "kinetic field" explanation which keeps everything and everyone firmly in place.
