Currently it's tied between Pariah (XBOX) and Borderlands (360). Only games I've ever traded in and not regretted later.

More recently, Crysis 2 for its story of Marines, aliens and New York City. The AI at times is pretty awful too, I expect that if an enemy yells 'throw grenade!', a grenade will be thrown into my vicinity, not at the feet of him and his four buddies.

Honestly I thought Crysis 2 was fun as Hell. It didn't feel scripted like Call of Duty and the combination of stealth and gunplay was satisfying.

The AI didn't seem too bad. It worked well enough with the occasional glitchy enemy trying to run through a wall.

That's not saying much though, half of CoD's campaign felt like a glorified quick time event.  I think that almost all games feel less scripted than CoD.

DA2 - It was a completely different, and rather ****ty, game compared to DA:O and the actual strategy feel it had to it. There wasn't 4 waves of enemies every fight, and the boss fights actually made sense. The story was great, but poorly executed on all fronts. The reused maps killed it for me too, having played Origins, with all the choices, loot, 60 - 120 hours of gameplay, and great story, when I heard what they were doing to DA2 early on, I cringed, but I brought myself to get excited, only to be disappointed with trying to deceive myself.

Fable 3, Peter Molenuex somehow managed to make the experince more shallow, how do we get people to feel emotionally connected to the characters of the world? give them fetch quests.. Because every one loves those.

Alpha protocol, a great idea, badly executed.

Dragon Age 2, no not because i was expecting Origins 2.0, because i was expecting something better.

Metal Gear Solid 2, I can see why Kojima made the choice to include Raiden but it should only have been a short sequence.

Resident Evil 4-5, these two games killed the franchise for me, i was expecting SH and got an action game.

And a few others.

Dragon Age 2 is the first one to spring to mind, because I loved Origins so much, while DA2 felt like it was made for a diffrent audiance.

Any Transformers game before War for Cybertron. You'd think the franchise was a perfect fit for video games.

-Fable.  I remember back when this game was called Project Ego and it was touted as more than just a fantasy action RPG, but a life simulator.  Turns out these social elements like marriage, aging, laws all felt tacked on and shallow.  I honestly believe that Fable would've been no better or worse if it really were just a generic fantasy RPG.  At least it wouldn't feel as pretentious.

THANK YOU! Finally, someone who agrees with me about Fable 1's level of failure. I wasn't bothered so much by the social aspects as I was by the fact that players didn't have any freedom at all to play how they wanted to. Wanted to be a pure warrior or pure mage? Tough luck! Jack of Blade's final boss battle requires use of strength, skill, and will. Not to mention the tutorials force you to play all 3 aspects. That combined with the whitening of hair that comes with Will uses, and your character was gonna turn white no matter what you did. Its a really poor aspect of an RPG when you can't be a barbarian, wizard, or rogue that you want to be.

Anyway, besides Fable 1, I'd have to say that Fable 3 is my other big disappointment with games. a complete 180 from Fable 2's progress towards what Molyneux claims the Fable series to be.

I'm not sure if I can add Dragon Age 2 to the list because I spoiled myself beforehand, so that ruined all expectations for me.

Saints Row 2 - I played it through and found it to be boring after you beat it because there's nothing else to do.
Fable 2 - It was boring, buggy, and over in a flash.

Fable 3 and Fallout 3. yes, Fallout 3 was fun, but I could not BELIEVE the ending. I had a ****ing mutant with me immune to radiation and I couldn't send him in to punch in the code? Noooooooo, you have to kill yourself or sacrifice the hot chick.

PFt damn lies!  You sir are a charlatan.  That or your not as creative or insane and look for all the side things to do, like crashing an airplane into Volgols Office up on that sky scraper and throwing people out the window.

You see, I did a lot after I finished, but it didn't have much appeal after you  keep doing these things, and the free roam multiplayer wasn't that great either.

No no I think he got it right the first time. Risen is great not the best like Gothic it has it's niche market.

i was disappointed by crysis 2 not because the game's style of scripting but because the gameplay is just... ok, not great, everytime it gets interesting the game hurries you to the next area, vehicles are mostly useless throughout the game as well aside from a couple of spots, i get that they were trying to refine the gameplay of the first game and make it easier to be "badass" and all that but i inevitably got bored, also the story is crap, overall i'd rather play games like Metro 2033 (not as fancy but a lot more interesting and satisfying)

my most disappointing game tho?

probably Gran Turismo 5, the game has good handling on a wheel but everything else about that game was such a gigantic diappointment

The Fable series, they are bland and shallow action RPGs. Fable 2 was filled with game-killing bugs and Fable 3, I didn't even try because how bad Fable 2 was with one of the worst magic systems in a game ever and the crappy and glitchy combat it suffered from.

The TES series, they are over-hyped. Morrowind felt like a traditional RPG but was ruined by a poor story, terrible combat and a very boring land. Oblivion just sucked because there were limits to what you could do, the story was linear and short and the combat was annoying.

Fallout 3, I played it for 7 hours (or more, I can't remember) and then sold it because of how crap the combat was, the plot twists were boring and the story just plain sucked, the world was boring to explore, small and just plain empty.

Borderlands, pfth, it gets better but everything in it just felt rubbish and that includes the combat, the RPG elements and what there is of the story.

Assassins Creed series.

NWN2 which was a disgrace to NWN.

Pretty much any game made by Obsidian.

Pretty much any game made by Lionhead.

Pretty much any game made by Bethesda.

Jade Empire, worst Bioware game IMO.

For most people, or those who tried to do everything they could first play through, the game lasted 60 - 100 hours. Given the DLC, the game was extended by 4 hours.
DA2 on the other hand, I beat that game in 20 hours first play through.
