Edit: That is to say, gays want to be open too, but even the most stone hearted ass**** conservatives can see a problem with secret gays in important positions getting tattled on. And those secret gays ain't going anywhere.

I do hope you know that the issue with DADT is not gays telling people that they are gay, but people finding out and taking it to their superiors to have them discharged, my lovelies. A law essentially facilitating blackmail material was a bit of pain to national security.
So much trust, it warms the heart.

I believe the phrase "BOOM! HEADSHOT!" is applicable here?

All interested parties should check this film out. It's made me realize how lucky I am to even have a pride where I live. Yeah, gays can be stoned in the street in some parts of the world, imprisoned, and raped because of who they are. So saying that our problems aren't nothing like what others suffer is an absurdly bigoted statement.
Thank you for that link. It's a good reminder that everything is relative and shows how far some movements have come.

Now, if California can get off its ass and... oh damn, finishing that would make the post political, right?
Allright, I won't finish that, but I'll still celebrate this huge achievement!

I'm neither American nor Republican or Christian. But I side with Republicans because this liberal attitudes and self-assurance of human-rightism is riding on my nerves. Liberalism is the biggest fraud for the crowd, and the "Right Thing" definition in liberal attitude is based on chaotic indulgence of freedom in Human Rights.Montezuma IV wrote...

"Right thing" to get some votes. Typical politicians.
He's Republican...
Whoops, now it went into politics. Sorry! I had to say that, though...
Everything new isn't good, specially in the laws. But the popularity of everything nonsense is because of ignorance, promiscuity, medias and bad education of the populace.

As a resident New Yorker this news pleases me. NY has a reputation for being this open, progressive place, but in many areas it is undeniably backwards and borderline clannish. This is a major step forward. Of course, more needs to be done...
Ofcourse. I wouldn't expect to see some homosexuals walking around in say Jamaica, Queens where they would most likely be attacked, I used to live there now in Brooklyn, but it's a very big step forward. Now it's really only up to the people themselves to stop thinking like it's the 20th century and thinking gay marriage shouldn't be allowed.

Yeah, gay people being afforded the right to marry is surely going to bring about the end of the world. Maybe there's an unknown law of physics that'll cause married gay people to attract huge meteors, which will hit the Earth, killing us all! <_<

Terrified by gay marriage ? Damn.... Looks like the "h" word, that has been banned from these forums, is an understatement for you

Indeed. And something I find incredibly intriguing: whilst the US legalizes gay marriage only in some States (other ones are free to reject it) a lot of other countries don't. They legalize it for the entire Nation. Is that in the USA's Constitution or something? I really don't know.
