We've been having this for nearly 10 years. Shame on you, America (well, and most of the rest of the world).

Oh, how annoying. I just knew this thread would be flooded with Lady Gaga images.

Glad that the U.S. is getting with the times, though.

I love when people usethat for all sorts of topics. I mean god forbid that the peasents revolt and murder you. (not aimed at homosexuality so much as in general) Funny enough in some parts of the world that little display would cost you. There are no human rights trully short of having a free mind. And even that can be controlled with enough propaganda or trickery.

A Good Example is enviromental issues, or in point of the matter Oil. I have some Data sheets from the global scare in the 90's that predicted we would run out of oil in 2010.  Well apperantly wrong. And in point of View offical Russian (and a few other nations) views are that oil is in fact renewable and far faster than projected.  Anyways point is one mans wrong is anothers right. So people who hate homosexuality, or love it consider themselves in the right. When ignoring the other side or going "Deal with it" you are only adding fuel to the fire. Ignore a man often enough and he's likely to put your head on a pike.

Force and after results are the only true judge of right and wrong.Infact even laws and enfourcement could not stop such an event. Globally Secutiry forces are always outmanned. So do think the next time you shout "Deal with it" rather than trying to find an agreeable solution to all parties, that if the opposition is pushed in a corner and see's that it has more man power....well I find laws and governments have changed far more often from the clash of the sword, than the march of the protestor.

The fact is homosexuality is not well loved, well received, and in larger area's than where it is okay, it is illegal, frowned upon, or delt with harshly. You can't just tell a large segment of the population to "deal with it" no more than you can go tell a black man to "plow my field."  It may or may not be fair depending on who you ask, but life never has been, nor will be. It may sound and be ugly, but you need to take politcal and Social considerations into account, that go beyond the borders of Western Europe. All I'm saying is it may or may not be right to just open it, or demand it, just don't be surprised when someone gets pissy. And don't ignore said pissy persons if they are in greater or equal numbers.

The West, and in praticular the US has been doing that for years with Democrization, and look how obviously well thats working out.

Pathetic. We have far bigger issues than garbage like this to deal with. Our economy is in shambles, we have sky rocketing gas prices, and unemployment, and we're all focusing on changing marriage laws. I feel sorry for New York, their politicians care more about appeasing a bunch of whiny crybabies, than actually working on real legislation.

I am really sad for all the people who are blind enough to believe that humans are divided into the ones who deserve their rights and the ones who don't. Pity...

Thats all this **** is, just to keep a few blue dogs in office. They couldn't give a **** one way or another so long as they get paid and the stupid sheep think they are riding on a new wave of humanity. But that might be the point, who cares about pesky thing like polorization, or jobs, or energy, when an issue that props up on your heart strings comes up. Its the oldest trick in the book.  Its a smoke sign nothing more.

You obviously know NOTHING about the New York legislature....it was a mircale it even passed. Stop talking out of your ass and go clean up a landfill if you are so worried about us not handling bigger issues.

It's no different than any other issue that actually gets fixed in the states. People have to deal with the devil ( politicians) in the hope that some good comes of it.

I Obvioulsy don't like the state of New York (long story envolves some ugliness I seen while there, permantly left a sour taste in my mouth for the state, be happy to tell you what in PM, not political really.). And also given I live in another state that doesn't have an equal trade pact or remotely anything in common, I don't care, what I'm saying is to the broader issue, whats wrong with civil unions?

You get all the same ****, and your not pissing in anyones cornflakes. I don't see the problem. Then again I don't count on the state to keep **** I got safe.

**** and no. If they live state side at least. Then they are American. If I moved to England today, then I'm English. If you move to any nation, take part in it, make use of it, you can have the damn honor of pledging to it.

And it has **** to do with closed mindedness. Its honor, Duty, loyality. Something you clearly know **** about, as to that sappy one world **** please. I've know people in parts that would sooner kill you than hug you. and here's how peaceful we are. The UN sure works wonders, I see us sailing over the orizion singing koombaya any day now.

Lol, the European-hater turns out to be a homophobe as well! Honestly, how can you expect ME to take you seriously? This is a thread dedicated to the fact that gay people are allowed to marry in NY. And you suddenly start to sum up that BS again that "Europe is the worst thing to happen to mankind" and stuff like that. Then again, it is common knowledge that it is impossible to reason with people like you anyways... :pinched:
