Guess I'm one of those 1% people then, just like 99% of the other posters in this thread.

We haven't had 100 people post here yet, so son I don't know exactly how well you did in math but I think that brick over there has you beat. Also he says he'd rather die than play b*tch too.

Die or be a complete tool for another to use for any purpose. Hmm...I'll choose death. But I do so because I'm driven by my own set of moral principles. In the decision to either rewrite the Heretics or destroy them, I'd say both decisions are just as unethical. Might as well make use of them than weaken the strength of a potential ally.

Sometimes you don't only have yourself to live for. Factor that in.

So what my child/signficant other can live in slavery?

Yeah I don't see many people jumping on that idea.

You do realize that there is no such thing as complete freedom? This discussion depends on what freedom we are talking about. Not black and white.

Shep's first task with his new indoctrination abilities:

Paging Miranda, Liara, Samara, Tali and Ashley for an urgent meeting in the Captain's Quarters.

Ashley: This is a bit odd, don't you think? Why is he just summoning female squad members to his quarters?

Miranda: And what is with the candles and the Barry White music from that alarm clock?

Stepping into the Captain's Quarters wearing his retro Hugh Hefner smoking jacket, Shepard addresses the team: So ladies, how do you like your eggs in the morning? Scrambled or fertilized?

Well, I give a fun dialogue from Master and Commander:

Captain Aubrey: "Do you see those two weevils, Doctor?...Which would you choose?"

Dr. Maturin: "Neither. There's not a scrap of difference between them. They're the same species of Curculio."

Captain Aubrey: "If you had to choose. If you were forced to make a choice. If there were no other option."

Dr. Maturin: "Well, then, if you're going to push me. I would choose the right-hand weevil. It has significant advantage in both length and breadth."

Captain Aubrey: "There, I have you!...Do you not know that in the Service, one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?"

Catch-22...

"You're a shameful opportunist. What you don't understand is that it's better to die on your feet than live on your knees."

"You have it backwards... It's better to live on your feet than die your your knees."

Yeah... You should go ask England about that. Or wait a few years for China to show you.

Already does. Just look at Shepard's crew, they are all brainwashed. Turian without human fetish hits on human, quarian gives data to geth, criminal discovers that she's a little girl inside, professional assassin cries, one of the most loyal Cerberus operative leaves it, another one commits suicide and krogan studies human history.

Thing is the Dominate power in ME2 doesn't make this idea sound as ridiculous as it should be.

So you rather see them get shot than live in slavery? Watch their lives get violently taken away or let them live knowing they will suffer but they have each other?

Depends, slaves can be treated well but without freedom to leave. Slaves can be abused to the brink where you want to die, look at some of Europes "finest" slavery camps during WWII - Don't tell me you'd rather have a quick painfull death than mining some stuff to fund your oppressors war effort.. "oh yeah this is the life, I have my family right next to me, weee and tonight my daughter is getting gangraped"

Nah bullet

Would you be able to see your family get shot point blank or be executed by a firing squad? Seeing them suffering from fear and crying, head down on the floor with a gun pointed at the back of their heads or their bodies being riddled with bullets before they collapse to the floor in a broken bloody mess.

Honestly i have no idea what i would choose and i hope for that sake i have no family when in that position.
