I got this message from EA:

[quote]
We
recently learned that hackers gained unauthorized access to the
decade-old BioWare server system supporting the Neverwinter Nights
forums. We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’
data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach. We have
determined that no credit card data was compromised from the servers,
nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like social security
numbers. Our investigation shows that information such as user names,
encrypted passwords, email addresses, mailing addresses, names, phone
numbers, CD keys and birth dates from these forum accounts on the system
may have been compromised, as well as other information (if any) that
you may have associated with your EA Account. In an abundance of
caution, we have changed your password to ensure account security.
Please visit this <link deleted> to reset your password immediately.

If your link has expired, click <linked deleted> to generate a new email.

The first link has expired and does not work!
The second, well, it appears to be non-functional, because after asking for it to reset the password, it claims to send an email, but nothing has ever happened!

Most automated password reset services will respond within seconds, 10-30 minutes at the most.
It's been nearly 3 hours and the first reset email has still not shown up!

And when I attempted to login to the Mass Effect forums, I was quite annoyed to discover my password did not work!
I'm assuming the EA password reset mechanism changed it.
And since I don't know what it changed it to, I can't login to my account.

So, considering this is most likely going to stuff up everything relating to my Mass Effect/Dragon Age account data and my preorder of Mass Effect 3, would you care to explain what the heck is going on?

By the way, this is not the account that is having the problem, I had to create a second one just to login to the forums and report the problem with the actual account!

Ironic that I can't report the problem without logging in to the account in question, which I can't login to because the password is broken, but I can't report that without logging in, it's just logic going around and around in circles.

Darn, I hope this isn't a scam of some kind by a hacker......

Try requesting a new password reminder, either by logging in here with your main account or through the EA website. The reminder will generate a new link for you which is sent to your email address
