I didn't really know where to post this, but I recently made a video to try and achieve a deeper emotional impact than that of "The Fall of Earth" trailer. Hopefully it didn't go too bad, but I'm getting mixed critiques about it. I was wondering what you guys thought of it.

I was trying to make the video using only Mass Effect related music. Besides, having Sovereign's theme go to "Undying Love" by Two Steps from Hell wouldn't really have sounded right. The Long Walk was the perfect length for my video.

yes i totally understand but if you get a more dramatic piece of music to go with it would of conveyed the message of being a final stand being more desperate

I think you shouldn't let Sovereign drone on so much, at about 7 seconds into the trailer, I skipped ahead just to make sure you didn't have him talking the entire trailer. And be careful how much you clip stuff together. Having 20 scene changes in 10 seconds is exhausting and doesn't make me want to pay attention.

I was kind of realizing this myself as I made the trailer, but it was difficult to fill the space between the start of the trailer and the end of Sovereign's theme. Perhaps I should have sped up the theme, now that I reflect on it.

this is more dramatic i dont know if it would with your vid but it pretty good

I liked the "Long Walk" music a lot better, especially with when you used Shepard's "Arrival" lines. The first half, I really wasn't feeling it.

I placed a larger emphasis on the second half of the video because I was trying to make it feel like this was truly the last stand, the last game. The point in which everything is decided in the Mass Effect universe. It's Shepard's stand against destruction, more than anything. Hope in total hopelessness.

For your first video this was pretty good. The second half of it seemed separate from the first half, and the first half was not as good as the second. It's a good video, but you can probably improve it.

I like this better. You are absolutely right; there wasn't enough emotional impact in the fall of earth trailer. I'm usually not a fan of fan-made trailers but this one was impressive.

Hopefully we'll see another official trailer. Something like AC: Revelations trailer which I thought was one of the best trailers I have seen in a while.

This just seems to highlight to me just how much better sovereign's dialog and VA are compared to harbinger's cheesyness

Initially, Sovereign didn't speak at all in the trailer. Then I realized how strange it is to have Shepard speak out of nowhere. Think of a song that goes on for a while using only instruments, and then out of nowhere someone starts singing. It's the same strange effect that doesn't feel right.

Ahh, thank you. I only played Arrival the once, too much shooty shooty bang bang for my taste, must have been sleeping through that part.

I think the video was pretty good, my only critique is the volume of the music vs Sovereign/Shepard's dialogue at times drowned the other out, for instance at about 0:47 in the video.

One of my go to places for fan made Mass Effect vids is Genol3oost's channel which has put out some of my favourite vids if you want some ideas for future vids it might be a good place to look.

Great vid, though I suggest the following to make it better:

- A lot of scenes in the vid seem sluggish. If it's within your reach, try to correct this problem.
- Shepard's voice sounds kind of muffled. You might want to look into that.

Otherwise, it's a pretty good vid!

EDIT: Groove Addicts' "Interstellar" could be an interesting choice of music (see here)

You did well. Like OdanUrr said, some of the scenes seemed laggy. Also, I could hear the original sounds under the voiceovers, which makes things a bit too cluttered.
