So im new to rpgs, and i need to know when to cast certain abilities.
(for instance, i cast taunt at the beginning of every battle is that correct?)
(i am playing a full tank (sword and shield)
( i have the build made up,but i dont know when to cast my abilities)
and also what is the order of the mobs i should be attacking (should i stay on bosses at all times,or kill off the little guys first?, mages, rogues, then warriors?
(p.s.- i am using mosesofwar guide) any help is appreciated! thanks in advance!
If you're looking for a set threat rotation, there isn't one. You have to look at the field before you and decide how you want to manage threat with the abilities you have. Mosesofwar's guide should give you a general idea of how to use those abilities. You've listed both passive and active abilities up there. I'd suggest reading the tooltips in game for those active abilities and figure out a) what abilities are good for single target

what are cone or area of effect attacks that you would use for clustered enemies. Use them when opportunities present themselves. The guys in the builds forums are good at building really devastating characters that will stomp the game into oblivion, but you still have to figure out yourself how best to use them.
In regards to handling mobs: I like to get the initial threat on every enemy in the wave with my warrior either with auto attack (if normal rank) or with abilities (if higher than normal rank.) Usually, I gain threat on the things closest to my squishies first, high level targets next and then work my way around the room to the ranged if any. DA2 warrior is pretty mobile, and you should be able to do this quickly without any trouble. After the first initial threat grab, I go to work on tougher enemies while the rest of my team kills the peons. I tend to save threat transfers such as taunt or goad for the next wave, bosses or when I need emergency snap aggro i.e. lieutenants directing their minions to attack one of my squishies etc. Everybody has their own comfort zone for this sort of thing.
I change targets as often as needed to keep control of threat, as such I usually have one person in my party dedicated as a main assist/off tank where the rest of my party focus fires his/her target. I use either Isabela or Merrill as my main assist, and have them systematically eliminate normal/low health mobs first just to minimize incoming damage to my warrior unless assassins/high level blood mages are present. Kill order varies from encounter to encounter, you need to figure out which unit is the deadliest to your party and/or the quickest to drop. Assassins and high level blood mages take priority for me, followed by squishier enemies such as regular mages, melee and ranged peons until all that's left are the boss types. If I've done my job in terms of threat control, all enemies/bosses are focused on my warrior and my party is safely melting everything down into the ground.
Hope this helps?
