Of course it will. He will offer your FemShep a threesome with another guy, just like he couldn't wait to have a threesome with FemShep and Liara.

(note: sarcasm ;))

Fixed your poast, dudebra.

Also, I don't see the problem with ******/bi/whatever romances. I never had problems rejecting advances of characters, who my Shepshep wasn't interested in. Saying "No" to Tali or Jack is no different than saying "No" to Kaidan/Jacob/XXX, in my opinion.

Ugh. don't you have an anime convention to be attending or something. I'm sure there are many silly little trinkets to waste your money on.

I have a problem with ******/bi/whatever relationships when they ruin the continuinty. I don't understand these girls, there are several games out there that you can yaoi the hell' up.

I really don't understand these topics.  How is it rewriting or retconning the character?  Did Garrus and Tali get retconned in ME2, since they didn't show any romantic interest in Shepard in ME1?  For pity's sake, people.

A good friend of mine apparently retconned herself recently.  She dated men all through high school and college and even had a weird old man fetish for a while (yes, someone existed who found George Bush sexy).  Then about 2 years ago she started dating a woman, and they got married one week ago.  It was a big surprise for those of us who had listened to her rave endlessly about how sexy certain male members of Congress were.

I tell you, I tried my hardest to tell her that she was ruining her own continuity and that she was an obvious example of poor writing.  She went and retconned her entire high school experience.  Such a shame.

Reminds me of an Onion article:

What I find unfortunate is that attaches to the character, we follow its evolution from the second part and here we want to change the personality for everyone to be happy, if for example Liara became exclusively heterosexual, it would be a shame for gay and would be upset that change their sexuality.
After it's just my opinion, I'm all for variety but not at the expense of the quality of the script

I completely agree. I'm fine with making new characters bisexual. I'm not fine with rewriting old characters and changing their sexual orientation in order to cater to some fans.

The only old character that could be bisexual is Jack. She talked about a threesome and it seems like she doesn't care who she sleeps with.

Liara becoming heterosexual would contradict her previous attraction to FemShep. Kaidan being bisexual doesn't contradict anything from his relationship with FemShep. Bisexual guys like BOTH men AND women.

I would lika all m/m things in ME3 to be removed entirely, but that is me.

You are clearly just a homophobe.

Absolutely not, two of my family me,bers are gay, I still talk to them and love them as I would a normal person.

However I do not belive it as any place in Mass Effect, that is all.

Um, being related to people who are gay doesn't mean you can automatically claim that you are not a homophobe. Understanding that they are in fact "normal people" means you might be able to say you are not a homophobe. Maybe someday ...

Add me to the list of people who don't understand why this topic keeps popping up.

If it's pathetic, why post in the thread, and why look at it? It's pointless to complain about people expressing their opinion.

If any of the previous squadmates turn into Zevran or Isabela, I'll be complaining right along side of the OP. Otherwise, unless a character has stated clearly that s/he would never consider a same-sex romance with Shepard (like Jack or Samara -- who turned down male Shepard, too), I don't see what the problem is.

Until a couple of my friends came out of the closet, I assumed that they were straight. I'm happy to say that I'm not such a jackass that I complained that they ruined my view of their character continuity. Hell, in one case, my friend had stated earlier that he'd NEVER have relations with anyone but women. I was kind of bummed at the time when a girl I spent a semester hitting on turned out to be gay though.

I got over it. Her Korean BFF turned out to be an excellent option for me.

Jack is no more explicitly bisexual than any other character. Yes, she did participate in a threesome with a male and a female, but even if Jack had a healthy attitude towards sex -- which she doesn't -- a willingness to engage in new experiances does not define her.

Also, Jack certinally does care who it is she sleeps with. Which isn't to say that she's not willing to sleep with someone she dislikes, but rather that sex is one of the means by which she's able to establish her opinions of others. If she didn't care, she wouldn't be so upset about Shepard using her for sex. Again, not a healthy approach to sex, but she's a complex character.

All that isn't to say that Jack isn't bisexual. Rather, her sexulaity is somewhat undefined. Granted, I choose to interpret the culmination cut scene of her romance chain as being rather chaste, so perhaps my perspetive is a bit different.

Jack never actually stated she'd never. She wasn't into girl's clubs. I'm not sure how anyone interpreted that as "no love" and not "painting toe nails and gossiping about Miranda."

That came out (lol pun not intended) wrong. What I should have said was that it takes away from the characters structure.

I've said most of what I've wanted to say on the subject already. I don't think making any of the old romances s/s ones makes sense. I don't think that it's unreasonable to believe a character is straight even if they don't explicitly tell you they are. And I don't think that staying in the closest comes across as being especially consistent with Ashley or Kaidan's personality at all. Ashley tells you that the Williams women are a decisive bunch and Kaidan pretty much tells you that he's secure with the person he is.

I also don't really support any new romances with old squadmates in general for any gender/character combinations.

I hate to sound like one of the guys who are whining about s/s romances, but in the case of Jack they'd be right. Jack's "girl's club" comment came at a moment when she cuts off female Shepard and starts a romance with male Shepard. She never said that she'd had loving relationships with women before, only that her female lovers had either used her or that she had spent her early life using her sexuality as currency. Now that Shepard has (in a limited VG way) begun to "save" her from such a mercenary view of her sexuality, I feel the game developers have made it pretty clear that she prefers to be "straight."

However, if she DOES become a BI option in ME3, I will NOT lose sleep over it or waste my time complaining in these forums.

I will say I 110% agree with you I am happy for bi-sexual relations in ME3 but not with current ME1 and ME2 characters that are not bi-sexual as it is. (I am not anti gay or Bi, infact a relative of mine is gay)

I was also one of those who disliked the random affection Tali gave to shepherd even though she showed no signs of it (even if Liara said she was in awe of you, she would have shown at least some sign of it) and Garrus (I was less displeased with his because he did seem to be genuinely in awe of you throughout ME1 making it feel more real).

And many of the ME characters do not lend themselves currently to this because most of them show no signs of that sort of thinking (except Samara she shows no real interest but has the most potential out of all of them)

But I hope for not many new characters in ME3 i saw 2 at most, James Vega and a female counter part so that a new possible relationship opens up whether straight or bi

How lovely, they just need to start a thread like this once in a while to say how they don't support s/s, m/m, retcons etc. Homophobia just can't stay in the closet where it belongs, can it?

Yeah, only give new romance options so players have only one game to get to know someone instead of with someone who they have trusted for years. <_<

Ugh... It's almost amusing how this "i'm open to new characters for s/s" is repeatedly thrown around here. I don't know if it's supposed to be some sort of "prove" that they're not ... err.... (can't say it, dammit) or if it's supposed to be some grand gesture of generosity, throwing some scraps...
I think it's garbage either way. People don't want to romance new unknown characters. People want to romance their prefered characters from both games.
