This thread itself is evidence that explaining the nuts and bolts of the Lazarus Project is a bad idea. Shepard was brought back to life with his identity intact. There's no debating whether or not it's possible, because it happened. If you start trying to explain the details, it loses its sense of wonder. We already have enough people here with their high school biology textbooks open, ready to explain the impossibility of everything. It doesn't matter if a bunch of pendantic ninnies can't understand how it happened, because it did.
I have visions of midichlorians dancing in my head right now. Let Shepard's ressurection be axiomatic. Any references to the process should be comprised of pseudo-scientific mumbo-jumbo that doesn't give anyone a foothold to begin climbing Mount But I Took A Science class!

"I'm sorry but the files you are trying to access are locked, please report to the nearest Cerberus officer and subject yourself to interrogation. This conversation has been logged and reported to The Illusive Mans' office."
I suspect the T virus from Resident evil has been used.... or the same way they cloned Ripley from the ALIENS Ressurection movie. All those Cerberus troopers we fight are the Shepard clones that didn't fit the bill.

Its better left as it is, its not real science, so the facts cant add up. All it would lead to is hundred more questions and whining about how "This isn't real" and "That doesn't make sense" Its fine the way it is now, vague but to the point.

The Cerberus Lazarus project was a bad idea, created for what I believe to be for game mechanics reasons, and then passed off as story. It never needed to happen.
I would just assume forget about it and pretend like Shepard never died.

^ I agree it was bad to kill off your lead role in 5 seconds and then bring him back in time for tea really but now that they've done it and we know Liara got a corpse back for them it has to be explained there are some technology that they could've used that could very well be important for 3. Like did they use reaper tech in shep to set him up to be used as a reaper puppet so TIM could make him via the control chip be a double agent and undermind said reapers? We don't know the long or short term issues in whatever voodoo they used on him/her.
That was disturbing enough now toss in Rho and the two day out what the hell were they doing? These gaps aren't coincidence or just to toss wrenches into the machines if they are it's colossally idiotic and horrible writting.
I would've loved for TIM to have just lied to shep and say he died and he was rebuilt but shep was human with bone when he died when we awoke he was cyborg with brick syndrome.

Jacob said he is pretty sure shepard is not a clone.
Jacob is probably the dumbest squadmate in ME2.
How do we know that it is really shepard?

We won't until we find the data. I wouldn't trust TIM or Miranda to tell the truth to shep either way.

Oh.. You really wouldn't want to do that in space.

I think it would be better if shepard entered a massive warehouse to see hundreds of shepards all marching into ships. Mind rape. Who is the real shepard then?
