As far as BG2 and older Bioware games it's been a long time since i played those so i'll stick to ones i remember. I guess my all time favourites would be Leliana,Morrigan and Thane Krios as i felt those romances were pretty well written you learn a lot about the characters and they change as people during the romance. I'll give an honourable mention to Zevran too.

I thought about a few others but they were either annoying (Alastair and Kaiden) Cheesy (All JE romances) Or they made me want to kill myself (Jacob)

Edit: I'll mention Merill too but only the rivalry romance. The friendship romance felt too ridiculously silly for me "You're a dangerous blood mage but i love you so that's okay!" at least the rivalry romance had you being the person who was protecting her from herself it was just a more interesting romance story that way.

In DAO:

Her original face is bad.

In ME:

Ashley and Liara

In ME2:

THE PRIIIIIIIIIIIZEEEEEEEEEEE, jk. Liara in LotSB. But it was meh.

Dragon Age 2 options sucked and not worth the honours of being mentioned

I would have included Alistair but after agonizing over the decision to kill Connor in my first DA:O playthrough - having him come up and scream at me afterwards.....couldn't forget that in any playthrough - strange I suppose

I regret that not one of my characters romanced Morrigan. I always thought it would be the most interesting of the LIs.

Morrigan and Liara. Alistair, Kaiden, Thane and Zevran were good but Liara and Morrigan are special.

Shiala, make it happen, Bioware.  If not, the desire demon.

I freed him from his demonic taint and we went off romping across the planes - still my favourite to this day.  His voice actor was great too.

I don't know why, but for some reason the companions from HotU all remain staunch favourites.  Valen and Deekin stand out, but it even made me like Aribeth.  That expansion pack was golden.

YESSSSS! I have lost track of how many times I have played HOTU. I like almost all Bioware romances, but this is my fav. Alistair's a bit of goof, Zev has been around the block too many times, Fenris is a tad too angry, etc... Valen is JUST RIGHT. ( I always imagined a Nathaniel Howe romance would go something like the Valen one: starting off as adversaries, earning his grudging respect, and eventually falling in love.) Even with the lack of cutscenes and fancy graphics, Valen's confession of love makes my toes curl EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Oh right, Valen. I totally forgot him on account of never completing that module. He *did* stand out. Although what I saw felt rushed given the story's expansion length. Maybe I would have felt differently if I made it to the end, though.

Morrigan. I didn't find the romance fulfilling but that's why I liked it ; the ongoing seduction game sounded real, and she did break my heart which is always something of an achievement when you're a video game character.

Damnit, I have a favourite in all their games that I've played and I can't really put one above another (If Liara counts as an ME2 romance, otherwise I'm not particularly fond of any of them from ME2). It's between Jaheira, Leliana, Isabela, Liara, Bastila and Dawn Star; which I suppose I could narrow down to Leliana or Jaheira if I had to, but if I were forced to choose between those two I'd probably just have to kill myself, that or the universe may implode..

How can you not have made it to the end of HotU?  Regardless of romance, it was fantastic - I personally think that the full story of that PC (Shadows of Undrentide / Hordes of the Underdark) is a real standout piece of storytelling.  Great value for an expansion pack too, lots of content.  Didn't you even get as far as Cania?

Zev is bizarre! (Argh)
I cannot say about the others chars in DA2 'cause I haven't played yet. (I'm finishing DA:Origins first, again)

Can't say I know them all but of what I have seen, Liara would be the best story (only with LotSB of course).
Leliana was also nice though, with that song and Bastilla had a cool twist to it.

EDIT: Still have to see Morrigan, with her attitude, her romance could be interesting.

Alistair. Why? Because despite the fact that on some level he was designed to make the fangirls and a certain percentage of the fanboys squee, he made sense as a character with motivations and a place in the world. He's also a dynamic character, which is kind of cool. Alistair's story involves him reluctantly thrust into politics and being forced (along with the Warden) to weigh his personal goals & current relationship against the (potential) long-term well-being of his country. That sort of storytelling, where a relationship is part of and advances the plot (see also: Morrigan) is something I think Bioware should do more often.

I don't know the exact reason, but I enjoyed Bastilas' dialog than any other BW character dialog.

I don't understand why some folks complain about Alistair. In a lot of ways, he reminds me of myself. As for SoU and HotU, I only completed each one of them once, and I forgot most of the story... but I still enjoyed being able to join with Aribeth.

Edit: I just realized that I use the word "folks" entirely too often now.
