How can you not have made it to the end of HotU?  Regardless of romance, it was fantastic - I personally think that the full story of that PC (Shadows of Undrentide / Hordes of the Underdark) is a real standout piece of storytelling.  Great value for an expansion pack too, lots of content.  Didn't you even get as far as Cania?

I quit at the start of Cania. At the time I was involved in a persistent world. It took up most of my game time. Neat as HotU was, the role-playing there was much more interesting and I could not pry myself from it for long. I kept postponing my HotU until it had been so long I dropped it altogether.

Shame, the last chapter ties a lot of threads together and the story you learn in Cania and the trail you follow is really quite interesting.  Lots of things come together, and there are multiple endings.  It wouldn't make sense to go back to it after all this time I wouldn't think.

Actually, I intend to go back to it eventually. I still play NWN from time to time. Heck, I still play BG2. XD The trouble now is working through enough of my backlog to play it again.

What about Bioware put 2 custom LIs in a game? one male and one female, both can be modified by player to suit his/her interest <3

I think there's actually a danger that Bioware's going in that direction. Too much empahsis on creating LIs that will appeal to the players, not enough on creating romance subplots that fit into the main story of the game, or that aren't relegated to the role of "subplot" in the first place.

Its funny! Imagine Bioware design his/her movements and dialogues, and only visual is up to the player.

1. Isabela, of course. Its like she was specifically made to push my buttons. Like the #2 choice she rethinks her life due to her relationship with the protaganist. And love the way she builds relationships with the other 'girls' of the group.

2. Viconia. Legitimately going from someone I couldn't stand, to romance, tragedy, redemption and nookie. (in no particular order) I was greatly surprised how much the story of this 2d sprite moved me.

3. Tali.  Just someone I felt genuine enjoyment with every time I talked to her. Plus, she has a shotgun.

 “What could I possibly be suggesting? I mean, a young woman gets rescued by a dashing commander who lets her join his crew and then goes off to save the galaxy? How could she possibly develop any kind of interest in him?”

I wish I could say Fenris, but the relationship felt more one-sided with the lack of interaction following the break-up. I hated that he broke up with my Hawke but stayed around declaring loyalty to me and ignored the fact that he and my femHawke were still in love --even Aveline acknowledged this during her courtship with Donnic asking how do I and Fenris deal with risk.

As much as I wish I could say my favorite is Fenris, I'd have to say...Alistair.<3

He was endearing, and thoughtfully, sweet. I felt I had more interaction with him and most of it was under a starry sky with a romantic bonfire and bright moonlight. I liked that he held nothing back of himself and it was honest to his upright character.  
Nothing more sexy in a man than being a confident man of integrity with a good measure of humor. 


Though I wish I could have had Duncan.
