1. You were dead, the Council wanted to bury all this "Reaper" talk; with no evidence it makes shep look too "loose cannon for Council taste
2. When you do return, youre working for Public Enemy #1. Again, black mark.
3. Arrival and LotSB. You basically caused a galactic incident, and a killed a Council op
Hence I think they will ERASE (Cue Arnie, J. Caan) you from all record, then have you put it in, similar to Mass 1.
Plausible? Good? Let me know
My Theory of how character will be reset by story reason

Yeah, no. Shep is too damn famous, everybody knows his name. Most likely it will be an Alliance data corruption or a court clerk asking you to verify the info.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. Your character is not being reset between ME2 and ME3.

I believe they're talking about how to implement the character creation feature in ME3. It doesn't have to be too elaborate though, you could change that in the start menu before playing the game.

If they're smart, they'll just let us create the player without trying to work in some really awful gimmick like they did in ME2. Hell, the only reason the Lazarus project seemed to exist half the time was so BW could have a witty way of recreating Shepard...which wasn't even that witty.

Or why not just force us into are old look and class?
This makes it feel like your same character seriously if i change it i might as well have played someone new not my character.

Shep will slip on the soap in the shower, bang his/her head against the wall, and forget everything about him/herself.
To make matters worse, Shep will then go on to have a shaving/makeup accident, which will explain why Shep now looks completely different.

I'll repeat my suggestion from the other thread;
During the trial, they have a sketch artist draw Shepard, BAM, Customization.
