jack has had a bad past, but she reassures Shepard she'll keep it together .
She's extremely neurotic , but not insane. Miranda treats her like she's crazy, but it's based on Cerberus reports and not first hand observation.
Mordin is just verbose to me.
Liara asperger ? she's very emotional, which is unlike autistic people .

guess we all have our own perspectives on all ME protagonists.

for that matter Shepard can be borderline psycho if you play full renegade.

Hey, we're all freaking nuts. I have yet to meet one stable person that doesn't have some sort of abnormality. I think it plays in well with the characters. Makes them more realistic.

Am I the only person who things that the following characters are actually crazy

Jack - post-trumatic stress disorder

Thane - clinical depression

Liara - asperger syndrome

Mordin - ADHD

Mointh - antisocial perosnality disorder (sociopathy)

Kelly Chambers - hypersexuality (Fully how she's the psychologist on the Normandy)

Jack: trama from past makes her anti-social, honestly she seems to want to move past it, and with blowing up the base maybe. But the fact that violince "gets her off" i get the feeling thats a long road off

Thane: Trained from birth to be an assassin, sociopath, maybe but not crazy.

Liara: just obsessed imo, pissed off that one of her only friends' body was being sold to the collectors by the shadowbroker just pissed her off.

Mordin: Honeslty just seems like a Californian on strong coffee Not ADHD, if he had ADHD he wouldn't be able to be a scientist. Considering his mind works really quick I don't see it as ADHD

Morinth: I think it would be a case of an addiction, considering her ability gives her a sense of empowerment and from what i guess a large uphoric feeling so.

Kelly: Not "crazy". Just very sexual and very experimental.

What annoys me is that everyone wants to play arm-chair clinicial psychologist:

A bright person who is shy in social situations and becomes focused on a particular interest?  Oh, it must be Asperger's.  Someone is a bit mopey?  He must be clinically depressed.  The list goes on and on.

The sad truth is that the medical profession now treats every quirk of human nature as deviant from the norm (and I mean "deviant" in the mathematical way).  Twenty years ago, a person could be called "absent-minded" or "lost in thought," and now that same person is diagnosed as "antisocial," "depressed," or "autistic."

People are people.  There's going to be a big range of behaviors.

Well, I would say that Grunt is not the sanest one either, he is a little weird even for Krogan.

Then again, I guess you had to be crazy if you want to join Shepards teams.

Diagnosis is more than labeling. Its a step in identifying appropriaie treatment. When you label such as you did, you actually are reducing their backgrounds into handy little packages of unhealthy behaviors. When in reality, the characters have coping skills, some are more healthy than others.

I agree that they all have coping skills (with the exception of Morinth). Jack holds a lot of her anger in, especailyl is she begins to love MaleShep, Thane's dying but again, he holds it in, Liara engages in work where she's forced to interact with others, Mordin finds his passion which keeps him focused and Kelly.... finds varren.

Have you talked to Thane? He is not holding anything in. He is dying and he let's Shepard know exactly what is happening. He is coping very well with what is happening regarding his Keprals Syndrome.

Coping skills does not mean you emote everywhere and all over the place. It means you process what you are going through and find a way to accept the situation in a way that allows for higher functioning.

Despite many of the characteristics you have identified, all of the crew are high functioning members. I do not believe Shepard or any of the squadmates would have been chosen if they could not cope with the stressors that they are dealing with. i.e. The Reapers.

Hey, crazy is practically stamped on the boarding pass for this mission.

Mordin Solus is perfectly emotionally and psychologically balanced, by the way. More so than his student, who was so traumatized that he could never get over what they've done. Mordin's a typical genius salarian. The very model, in fact.

I see what you did there.

Mordin keeps moving from thing to thing, not because he has ADHD, but because he's solving whatever problems he encounters quickly due to his mind processing information a lot faster than humans.
