Just for the lulz, how many people would buy and play this?

I wonder what would people do if Bioware had released pre ME3 DLC, something like Pinnacle Station, of course with ME3 combat and features, so we could play couple of battle scenarios until full game realese.

Not sure about DLC, but if BioWare realize this idea in ME3 Demo, that would be really good. We will have a chance to play in the ME3 and avoid Spoilers, until Mass Effect 3 wouldn't be fully released.

But that's not point of that thread and I didin't mean exactly like Pinnacle station, but something combat relevant, just to shoot stuff, so it's spolier free (at least story-wise).

Yeah, yeah, that was the idea. Demo sounds more appropriate. Thanks.

I'm frankly amazed that some people actually liked it. To this day I remain mystified as to how BioWare came to the conclusion that it would be a jolly good idea to add one the few BioWare-cliches that was missing in ME1, the arena. It's especially weird considering it completely revolved around ME1's combat system, which wasn't exactly that game's strong point.Trinity66 wrote...
I am amazed how many people disliked Pinnacle station.
i guess it's okay if you really, really just want more things to shoot at, but as far as I'm concerned it stands proudly next to Horse Armour, Deck Unlocks and Item Packs on the podium labelled: "How not do a DLC".
Let me ask you a question: are you really okay with having a DLC that has no substance whatsoever, no meat to it, but is just a random level with some random guys to shoot at?
Now to answer the OP: personally I always like a demo of a game. For one to see if I like the gameplay and secondly to check if my computer can run the game without turning into a molten slag of metal and plastic. So yeah, I'd actually be okay with something like this. I'd have to raise my eyebrow at the concept of having to pay for a demo though.

Yes. As I said, it's not great DLC, far from it, but I don't dislike it. It is a challenge to reach top scores in all scenariosRaygereio wrote...

and I had some fun with this.

If it was a demo, of course, then it would be free. But like I said, I didn't mean to be just like Pinnacle station, I mentioned this because it's not story wise and that way we could avoid spoilers.
We could simply get a mission, maybe like Zaeed DLC, decent amount of combat and no major spoilers.
Or whatever you guys like. [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/unsure.png[/smilie]

Fair enough. It wasn't my kind of fun - mainly due to ME1's clunky combat, but whatever makes your proverbial boat float.Trinity66 wrote...

Why does everyone moan about how much Pinnacle Station cost? It was around £4 for me - about $6 for those of you stateside - which is peanuts! What did you expect for such a tiny amount of money? It made the game longer and gave you another set of achievements and something to whet your appetite for ME2. Bring Down The Sky was miles better it's true, but jees, everyone wants their own holodeck don't they? That's all it was, a little bit of fun. And a great way to get back into the mechanic of ME1 if you intend to play it again.
Because it wasn't fun. Atleast it wasn't fun for me.

It, for one, Sharpens your tactical strategies on the battlefield (example, using the mako to take out your opponents as opposed to getting out of the mako and taking out the foes on foot). You will have more confidence to get out instead of bounce and dodging bullets with the mako. In ANY situation. The mako is somewhat boring as far as combat. you miss out on so much gaming experience by using it all the time.
for two, it adds to the greatness of the Mass Effect universe as a whole. (somewhere shepard and other ranked soldiers can practice for battle) maybe you didn't like it compared to the rest of the ME game but so what (that is what made this DLC unique), you can't do anything about it except complain, moan, and hate, "so suck it up and be more open minded. IT"S NOT SOLEY ABOUT THE FACT THAT ITS DLC, BUT ITS ABOUT THE FACT THAT IT ADDS TO THE GAME AND THAT IT CAN SHARPEN YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE COMBAT SYSTEM". (which many people blindly complain about).
who knows, in the future of ME we may here of a soldier that trained in the Pinnacle station. I just hope the reward for completing it makes an appearance in ME3.....that said...Will the reward for completing the pinnacle station DLC be returning in ME3? I've searched and found nothing on that matter.

Pinnacle Station was Great and amazing hands down. maybe some of you couldn't complete the DLC so you're sour about that. I feel sorry for you, but pinnacle station was training grounds for you to use in the game. I found it amazing how they added it to the story and it all made sense. "Commander Shepard accomplished the impossible by completing Admiral Aherns challenge".
For the record, I completed that DLC and still found it to be bad. And as far as I know it doesn't carry over to ME2 (and so it won't carry over to ME3), so there won't be any bonuses for stomaching it.
