I am yet another victim of the DLC unauthorized bug, after waiting days for STEAM to finish downloading DA:O Ultimate Edition and getting 5 hours into Leliana's Song only to lose it. (Honestly  I understand DRM has issues, but how could you have a system that can TAKE AWAY people's content AFTER it has been verified Image IPB).

I re-installed/uninstalled off of STEAM and used a CD copy of DA:O I had purchased (the STEAM one was a gift), at first it didn't work, but then I went in and deleted more files left over from the original STEAM install and the second time it worked.

My real question is...how do I prevent it from happening again? I plan on playing offline entirely, as it seems to be related to losing connection to Bioware online while playing, will playing offline prevent that? I can still go online to upload screenshots/achievements/etc to my online profile correct? Technically you miss out on nothing by being logged out instead of logged in as you can do it all yourself later?

My other question is, I have Mass Effect on STEAM...are there DLC issues with that as well? If there are...I'll just plan on buying a CD version now.

Once your DLC is authorized, you can simply play offline and you will not have any issues with deauthorization. I have not seen similar issues with ME, though Cerberus network has been experiencing connectivity issues as well. A new patch (1.05) is in beta testing now that will resolve the DLC authorization issues.
