I am trying to figure out what exactly combat tactics does for me for my companions and what relation it has to the tactics scripts. Can anyone shed some light? Basically why do I need this if I have the scripits? I've set Alistair to defender, my dog to war dog, and Wynne to healer. Do I have to have these skill points in combat tactics for them to use the conditions set forth in these scripts or something?

Wait.. I think I am looking at this wrong, does the combat tactics skill allow you to add more preset conditions to the ones your characters already have? I think that's it. I was looking at it at first and wondering if you had to have the skill trained to use any tactics at all.

Yes combat tactics will give you more tactic slots. But these should be low priority because you will get some for free on some levels and there are more important skills for combat and quests that you should get first.

If you control your warden, then their tactics don't come into play unless you switch to another character. Unless this happens often, the default amount of tactics slots should be more than enough, so there should be no need to waste skill points on Combat Tactics.
Usually, I focus on coercion and combat training, and the others depend on my warden's class and role in the group.
