Just got out of school and I log in to this news...You are the MAN. Thanks. Oh, and thanks for that lock I requested early this morning.Brenon Holmes wrote...
Poked around a bit, so apparently the pre-reqs in the form that you guys have seen at E3 aren't around anymore. They're level based unlocks now, but from what I understand it's fairly generous in that most of the abilities unlock over the first handful of levels or so.

Level based lock is a lot better than forcing player to spend points to powers they aren't gonna use. So, this seem to solve the minor annoyance what most of us had in ME2.
Thank you again.
I remember reading from somewhere that it's just mistake in the picture. Squad members doesn't have paragon/renegade meter.Shockwave81 wrote...
Not sure if this has already been addressed, but do each of the squad members also have paragon/renegade meters?

It could also be great to actually choose your own powers without being "blocked" by the class thing.
We can choose one bonus power like in ME2. If we would be able to select all powers, classes would become trivial and there would be no real difference when I picked "best powers" for each playthrough.

Good... good , - my first reaction.
Thank you very much Mr. Holmes, greatly appreciated. Now only if we can do something about global cooldowns?

I would understand if locked power would be kind of superior or more powerful version of previous power, but concussive shot and overload are completely different powers, so yes, I agree with OP.
Second that.

Hell yes!

Will it be different for players who are importing from ME2 to ME3? Will our powers immediately carry over, or will we have to "re-learn" them over the first 4-5 levels?
We get the powers we had at the of ME2 as our basic powers, which we can evolve throughout the game (take a look at the Known Feats thread!)

Prereqs are just for the sake of prereqs... bad idea.
In Mass Effect 1 it worked because of the individual cooldowns, so it was in your best interest to invest in everything anyway. In Mass Effect 2, it's completely different and you need to max out specific powers and forget everything else. The disaster of prereqs increases when you realize that trying to max out locked powers can often result in having spare unspendable points by Level 30...
I agree 100% with you CajNatalie, I didnt mind in ME1 because you could use the other powers while waiting for one to cool down. In ME2 however i found myself only using Warp, Reave, and Singularity, making the other powers i invested in useless.
