Anyone planning to do a walkthrough where nearly every squadmate is dead?

I have a save where only Morinth and Kasumi lived. Everyone else died.

So that's Ashley, James, and Liara as the only squadmates for ME3.

For laughs, I think I'll do my second playthrough on such a save. It'll be fun, but I hope that BioWare doesn't throw a cheap shot and replace characters with other characters just because they died, like how Wrex was replaced with Wreav when he dies. I want to see the impact of a character's death.

Already done. For all squad members I have at least one save when they die. I first did a run through when they live. Then a run through where as many people as possible die. Then another run through where I specifically make sure anybody who didn't die the last time dies in that play through. Helps to accentuate my ruthless background.

Hmm. Now that you mention it. I probably have some ME (1) save lying around fresh for the slaughter...

Yes. You do have to have at least two left, right? To save you in the end?

Yes, doing it right now actually. Gonna try to keep just Kasumi and Mordin alive.

Already done. Only Grunt and Zaeed are alive. Normally I wouldn't kill anyone, but this one is specifically just to see the consequences in ME3. It kind of hurt me watching everyone get killed right before my eyes, though.

I plan on doing one of those playthroughs. I'm still trying to decide which two characters should live. My Shepard is a Spacer, Sole Survivor, and a Vanguard. I'm trying to avoid going full renegade or full paragon. Any suggestions?

I have 2 where I had a few squadmates die to see how that will play out, but I chose very specific ones. Most of them squadmates are still alive. I may dl a savegame where only 2 are alive, but we'll see.

What did you do with Jack on her loyalty mission? If you convinced her to let whats-his-name go, she might fit for a sole survivor (hates Cerberus) vanguard (biotic). She might be a little too renegade, though.

EDIT: quick question for OP. Not to derail or anything, but why would you by the "ultimate edition" of DA:O if you already have the game and expansion? Just for the extra goodies that come with an ultimate edition? (I've considered buying a collector's edition of ME2 but I already have two of the normal ones)

I'v tried. I just cant do it! I cant deliberately be idiotic to let them die, i'm on a play-through to try now but probably fail at it again! Most i'v killed is about 5 squaddies.

It includes all of the DLC. Plus, I got it for $20 during a Steam sale.

Oh, okay. Yeah if there was a ME2 version with DLC I'd buy it too.

I'm playing ME1 with this character. The characters that live can be either full renegade or full paragon, it's just Shepard that won't be. Jack could be a good fit for my ME3 game.

I am curious if such a walkthrough would simply be defined by lack of content (any interaction with the dead NPC simply isn't there) or if the world actually acknowledges the death of character XYZ.

...my money is on the former.

I've never killed Wrex so far, but his death is acknowledged in ME2, isn't it? I assume they can make it important in the third one since they don't have to worry about more tangents.

I tried. I ended up killing only Jacob and Miranda. I just couldn't do it. Not because I have no heart to kill pixels ( I have), I just can't do such an idiotic playthrough, even when  I know it is not idiotic if I do it on purpose, and actually, killing all of them takes some skill too

Ehh, that's right -but Wrex's death has zero impact on the world (he simply gets replaced by Wreav (or what's his name ?) doing essentially the exact same things a living Wrex does in ME2).

...I guess instead of "acknowledge" I should have written "impact". That's what really irks me. Choices and consequences. Dead squadmembers should result in consequences and not be absorbed by deus ex machina NPCs filling in the plothole they left.
