When Hawke is (going) in(to) battle shouldn't he say/yell something?

I can't hear him at all. All the others are screaming loudly, but my Hawke?... Dead silent...

Or is it me?....

Seriously, played 3 walkthroughs and I didn't hear nothing.

My Fhawke everytime they get jumped she said: Follow my lead.. I think is cool,
if the enemies dies: made Andraste has mercy of you're soul, lol!

I like when you give potions to them and they said: I hope not one need this! ^^

All I hear is "have at you". But I loved Origins' battle cries.

"Desperation is an ugly perfume!"


"May the Paragons watch over me!"


"Perhaps we should take the time to review what we've learned."



The last one is perfect if you backhand slap somebody.

Thanks guys, i'll make better notice in my next playthrough..

Maybe it's because my party members are shouting at the top of their lungs..

This is the only yells i hear:

'How many have you got Hawke?'

''May the Makers have mercy on you, I certainly won't'

'Eat on a fireball'

'I think someone needs a spanking' (or something to that degree)..

Have you tweaked your audio settings? You can drop the music and sound effects down a bit, and maybe boost up the dialogue. That might help. Hawke shouts a couple of different things going in to battle, but they usually get a bit muffled with the start of the fight music (or, the melodic sounds of *ss-kicking).

Hawke actually shouts different things depending on his or her personality. Also, each companion has a lot of different battle banter. It's quite easy to lose out on it though if you aren't paying attention.

A long time ago, I actually started categorizing all of the battle banter I found in the talk table, but I got bored and only ended up doing Isabela and Varric. If you're interested in seeing what they can say in battle, check here.

Edit: I don't remember much from DAO's battle banter except for Leliana shouting "I tried to be merciful!" repeatedly, which was kind of funny because she did the least amount of damage in the party, despite being a fixture.

Yep, that's Hawke.  It sounds best with Varric in the party because he has a keeping score banter as well.

I can understand it being hard to hear Hawke--most of the party members shout so much they'll actually override each other.

Hawke also shouts out companions' names when they get beaten in battle. And he shouts something about needing to drink potions.

I don't hear Hawke's battle banter either. Everyone else's, but not hers/his. I've heard it's an issue possibly with the PS3 game.

Also battle banter depends on your personalty.

As far as I know this only affects PS3 users and is only with Hawke. If anyone has information to the contrary please let me know.

Okay, so you guys are aware of this!

The main question remains: When will this be resolved?

I really miss the banter from my Hawke in all the battles:(

Me too. I play on PS3 and have, in fact, done three playthroughs myself, and not a word out of Hawke in combat. Turned music and sound effects way down and still nothing. Hope this gets fixed eventually.
