Reaper?
Is this such a crazy idea? At the end of ME2 Shepard says TIM would build his own Reaper because he is so ruthless, well maybe he would go a step further and would become a Reaper? Or do you find this idea too outlandish?
Could it be that TIM actually wants to become a...

When I've read the header of this thread, the word Reaper was the last one I would've expected to see in the post.

I'm pretty sure he knows that reapers consist of millions of humans & not just one. If what you mean is that would he become the Reapers real AI? It is a possibility, but according to E3 footage, they are indoctrinated.

So you don't support the idea?

Unless he has completely lost his mind, no, I don't think the Illusive Man would want to become a Reaper himself. Besides, he would not retain his mind or identity as a Reaper because it takes millions of a species to produce one.

He's too puny and insignificant to even comprehend what it means to be a Reaper.

If you take the Reapers words at face value , each are a nation "in and of itself ".
Whether an individual can become a Reaper doesn't seem to be feasible given what we are told about the creation procedure. You'd need to processes countless bodies to make the building blocks (The "goo") , and this , according to EDI, absorbs the essence of a species somehow.
Alternatively , the novel or comic book series suggests that its possible to make a Reaper avatar out of a person . Not sure about the specifics , since i haven't read any of them. It could be possible that TIM believes he could bridge the Reaper / Avatar forms, in which case your idea would be consistent.
It certainly would be consistent with TIM views and goal for Üman dominance.

Why not? A Reaper must have a soul, and that soul cannot just be born out of nothing. It is obvious that every Reaper possesses consciousness, maybe altered, indoctrinated and so on, but still - consciousness, and that is a single entity.Stardusk78 wrote...

Though, judging by what TIM did(or better said, didn't do) in ME2 - convince Shepard to preserve the human reaper, this idea seems unlikely.

If you keep the Collector base he'd have a Reaper factory, but to build one wouldn't he have to liquefy millions of humans? Which the Collectors were already doing...so if he wanted to build a Reaper, why destroy the one they were making and have to start all over again?
Then again, that evil smile he has in his last scene bears some thinking about. He clearly has some sort of evil plan to warrant such an expression!

I doubt it, just a feeling I have, and I dont think the reapers would have need of his mind leading a full-blown reaper..

How would that work?
I suppose his conciousness could transfer to a Reaper but that doesn't seem likely and given indoctrination.....
