I know this thread is about Garrus, but I have one question to do about Texmod and I don't know where to put it, so first of all I'm sorry for being off topic:
my question is that and concerns about Liara:

I've found here on BSN one mod to fix her head in ME2. The mod puts her skin design of the DLC Lair of the Shadow Broker into the normal game of ME2 (in Illiun where she appears). my question is if I need to activate the mod ALWAYS before playing ME2, or the mod remains activated forever after activating him for the first time?

thanks for the possible answers and I apologize again for the off topic

Refer to the modding is possible thread linked in my sig.
Note: You will need to register your game on the forum to access the modding threads.
Forum registration here: http://social.biowar...es_register.php

If you dont own a legit copy of the game, then too bad.

Thanks for your answer. I'm going to check your sig and see it by myself.
I've downloaded both Texmod and also the mod (one *.tpf file) so I need to mod it everytime I want to play ME2 or just doing the first time it works forever?

I don't have registered yet my game. Thanks again.

I cant recall exactly how its done, but you either use texmod to launch the game, or make a reference to texmod in the masseffect2.exe command line.
Either way, once you have set up a shortcut, its still a single click process, although will take longer to launch due to it having to load up texmod as well as the game.

This is fantastic - I have one question though... has anyone had any problem after importing an ME1 save where they've made this adjustment to the bioengine.ini?

I made the mod half way through playing my 3rd play through of ME1 and then imported it into ME2. It appeared to have no effect. Sadly my sheppard on my third ME2 playthrough didn't make it through the suicide mission.....

Sadly this fix doesn't seem to work for me... Still the same old blurry Garrus.

I noticed the line "Low LOD on Garrus' face has been addressed" in the version 1.02 patch notes. Is the fix in the original post in this thread still necessary?

DAFUQ!!!

In all these years I never found this topic. Well I admit I never searched for it. But since my appreciation for good old Garrus grew with ME2 and ME3 I thought for my final-final-ME-run I'd search for a face-fix for the poor blurry guy. "Texmod", of course, I heard of it, never wanted to use it, but I'd do it for Garrus. :D

Thanks to you and your topic I wont need to. So, as the last guest to the party, let me say "Cheers!" and thank you. :)

5 years...and Garrus is finally looking as he should:

Double-check that you're looking under the same file path that is mentioned in the start post. Double-check that it's the "BIOEngine.ini". There are several others.

If in doubt simply add the whole section and look if it works.

If you are on Steam you must edit two files. The one in the first post and one in your steamapps folder.

Once in Mass Effect folder go to biogame -- config and open the file DefaultEngine.ini. Once in look for the textureLODsettings then edit the same text you did in the original ini you edited. This worked to fix the problem for me.

Just a note you may have to reset your configuration to the proper window size.  It will also take a bit to load, but after that everything runs smooth.

Thank you, OP and thanks Stormrunner for the Steam tip - I had a feeling it required an extra step. :)

Thank you so much!! I've been looking for ways to fix this for YEARS. I tried texmod, and somehow I blew up a videocard in the process. Don't ask. I have no idea. This worked perfectly!
