I ran a search and couldn't find a thread for this guy. And he just mystifies me.
The Gallows is a prison, and in the courtyard, all the mages are supposed to either be Tranquil or just plain terrified.
So what is with Solivitus? He's friendly, he laughs at lame puns, he's obviously not Tranquil although he's a mage craftsman. He seems happy, and perfectly sane.
All the other non-Tranquil mages you can talk to in the courtyard are terrified. Heck I think the first thing any of them said to me was "Meredith would kill us all if she could."
So what's going on with Solivitus?
Solivitus - he can Remedy that!

He's just a good little mageling like the Templars want him to be.
I suppose Sol always played it safe like most of the mages in Ferelden did. By doing so it just became a norm and turned into everyday.
He minds his business with his potions and such, perhaps a love letter to Ines the Botanist once in a while.

So is he just oblivious to the danger around him? He just keeps happily brewing his potions while his fellow mages are tortured and made Tranquil right and left all around him?
WTF?

Ruthlessness could lie under that veneer of mirth.
Perhaps he sold the blowy-uppy formula to Anders.

LOL, so true. For all we know he's the leader of the Mage Underground. Playin' it like he's a good little Circle mage.

Nope, that would throw away my theory about Schmooples and Ser Pounce-Alot being the masterminds.

I merely suggested that he sold it. Schmooples and Ser Pounce-Alot could easily be pulling the strings. Who do you think funds all of the nefariousness?Knight of Dane wrote...

She can be Miranda.

I was disappointed by his apparent honesty. I half expected the various parts he tasks us with collecting to end up being shackled together into a monstrosity of blood and bone and set loose against Kirkwall.

He's either Meredith's secret lover, or her sister after the gender reassignment.
