Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. If you want to play horror games, PLAY HORROR GAMES. DO NOT PICK UP A SCI-FI game and come to our forums and make these silly suggestions!!!!!!!!!

I feel uncomfortably reminded of Klencory.

Although, after seeing what indoctrination has done to other people, I'd like to experience it through Shepard's eyes. Just once.

If there are ghosts and spectres there should be dual wielding of pistols and SMGs.

We might get to see Reaper cyborgs dual wielding assault rifles if the Retribution novel is any indication.

I'll throw my "me too" into the pretty much unanimous condemnation of this idea.

To explain why you're getting such a negative response, OP, imagine if someone had come in here and said, "Let's put Pokemon into the next Mass Effect game! That would be TEH AWESOME."

No matter what you think about Pokemon in general, it would be utterly out of place for the mood, setting, and storyline that have been established for Mass Effect to date and trying to do so would just be immersion breaking and make players say, "What the hell? Where the **** did that come from? Whose idiotic idea was it to throw Pokemon into the middle of a battle with the Reavers?"

As silly as this idea is, it can work in science fiction. The Reality Disfunction (and the rest of the nights dawn trilogy) is an absolute master piece. It's not so much the supernatural as once the "supernatural" is understood it is bound by the laws of physics. Once established, the afterlife opens up a huge number of moral and philosophical issues.

However this story is really about the Reapers. Unless the Reapers themselves were in some way created by waht we consider the super natural then it would most likely be a pointless diversion. It certainly shouldn't be done just for the hell of it.

No offense but worst idea ive seen so far. (other than the idiots that want multiplayer) although i wouldent mind co-op. as long as the guest player can only control a squad mate. and have no interaction with the choices at all.

We're already doing a lot of dispelling the unbelievable when playing.

You know, like an entire race of hot, curvy blue women, or a race of machines that can't aim.

Leave the ghosts to SyFy, not Sci-fi.

Absolutely not under any circumstances.

^ This is exactly how I feel.

OP, it would totally be out of place in the ME universe. We're going to be fighting in a war. I don't want to spend time talking/chasing ghosts.

No. The last thing we need is Alma knocking on the door when the Reapers invade.

WAIT EVERYBODY, you have to realize this is the same person who suggested ME3 ends with shepard waking up on his way to eden prime and the whole trilogy was a dream, He really thought it would be a good idea.

Definitely not! It was already annoying in BSG (although) understandable there) and I am glad that ME is an IP without all the mumbo-jumbo (well, apart from eezo of course). Keep it as "real" as possible, no Q, no time travel, no angels, asari mind-melts should be as far as it goes.

EDIT: Although, if they give Shep some drugs, something like this would be ok. :D

I wouldn't mind a mission that plays with the idea. Mass Effect is hardly 'hard SF', and I always like the idea that the universe is full of things that are just beyond understanding.

As a major plot point, or even a minor one? No.

I just want to kill the Reapers. I don't need ghosts getting in the way! No more extraneous sub-plots. Mass Effect has more than enough to tie up as is.

So I could say no. It doesn't make sense to change the focus of a game--this is (I apologize sincerely) a fantasy based on reality. How many ghosts have you come across lately? And the millions-of-years-old machines that have plans beyond human comprehension isn't "supernatural" enough?

There, you can all go now.
