For the ones where you need to comeplete most of the game with them for example:
Complete the majority of the game with the asari squad member
Im wondering does this mean side quests do i need to replay game this much do all side quests and so on just for this or will a rush through story with the 2 people work .

You need sidequests.
If it has a journal entry it counts basically.

I think it all totals around 75% of the game to get the achievements for squadmates.
