Anisotropic filtering (AF) is different than anti aliasing (AA). Only AF can be enabled through the graphics settings in the config utility. To enable anti-aliasing by using the CCC, first make sure you have the newest drivers -- older drivers won't work to enable AA in Mass Effect 2. With CCC set to "advanced view", click "gaming", then "3d performance settings". Where it says "Smoothvision HD: Anti-Aliasing" uncheck "Use Application Settings". Then select the level of AA you want -- 2x, 4x, or 8x. Do not check "Morphological Filtering" and leave the "Filter" setting on "Box". Note that this will apply to ALL games, so when you play a game that has its own AA settings in-game put the settings in the CCC back to "Use Application Settings".
Also, go into My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\Config\\GamerSettings and add the line "MaxMultiSamples=8" (without quotes) in the middle of the graphics settings. It won't enable AA by itself but it should help the effectiveness and performance of AA enabled through the CCC.
