I've been wonder if harbinger is going to be in ME3 but that seems unlikely since he dies in ME2. so unless i missed something and he somehow survives the collector base explosion could someone tell me please

The person who died is Collectors General. Harbinger is a reaper who controlled him.

Harbinger is a Reaper, he controls the collector general sometimes. Harbinger controls collector general from another place, collector general dead, not Harbinger.

No. He released control of the Collector General, presumably fearing what happened to Sovereign in ME1.

Harbinger didn't die he was just ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL of the Collector General.

If you do Arrival after you destroyed the collector Base you talk to Harbinger's hologram, Sovereign style.

sorry don't have arrival or i would probably know that. i want to play it though (ME2 GOTY edition couldn't get here fast enough).

I assume EDI analyzed data from the Collector base.

The series is full of oddities where Shepard seems to be aware of things that only the player should logically know.

Like recognizing holo-Saren despite not actually seeing him on Eden prime.

I can't remember by initial reaction to Harbinger "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL" but I know that by the end of the game I had no doubts that he was a Reaper. I thought it was pretty obvious.

Hmm I just assumed he saw the pictures of other spectres to recognize them.

hey the collector general could have a supernatural power over his minions. or since all there organs were replaced by tech he can take control of them in that sort of way. and besides all i wanted to do was kill the collectors so i didn't pay too much attention to what he was saying or how he controled them.

It's not about what he said, it's about how the camera zooms in on Harbinger's hologram while he says it. It's in a cinematic so you can't be busy killing collectors. You can clearly see he's a Reaper.

From the context it seemed pretty obvious the holo in the council meeting was Saren. The things he was saying, and the way that the other characters were speaking to him, and also it makes sense that a spectre would be given the chance to speak in his own defence against the kinds of accusations leveled against him.

As for identifying Harbinger as a Reaper? Well, Shepherd had already seen Sovereign pull the same trick on Saren in the battle on the Citadel. Not to mention the things he was yammering about on Horizon and that they rushed to Horizon with the assumption already in place that the Collectors were working for the Reapers.

It doesn't take Batman to connect those dots.
